We wanted someplace close to our hotel on Rampart St. for dessert. Our hotel manager recommended this restaurant. The desserts were different and delicious.

There is a very cool vibe here, wonderful atmosphere, good staff. We stopped here for a late breakfast. The deviled eggs are AMAZING. We should have gone back for dinner.

Everything was delicious! The duck, the grilled cheese, the wine - definitely a must go. We were there around 10pm, only an hour before they closed and we didn't feel rushed at all.

Took a wrong turn in Rampart looking for a different restaurant, but this ended up a good move. Great menu, great staff.

We just stopped in... food was amazing. Our server was helpful. We ordered four dishes tapas style - my favorite was the barruta (sp?) salad-yum!

This came highly recommended and we found it a nice experience. Amy had the Duck, which was yummy, and I had the Fish of the Day. First time in my life that I've had to use a knife on a fish dish. However, all was...More

We're frequent travelers to New Orleans but had yet to try Meauxbar...glad we finally did. Service was excellent and Duane was very knowledgeable about the food and wine selections which is always appreciated. Started with the sweetbreads ($16) which were excellent and perfectly prepared. Opted...More

Visited for brunch. After reading great reviews about the food and service, we went in with very high expectations. We were the first table to be seated on Sunday morning. A gentleman opened the doors, handed us menus, seated us and told us someone would...More

We had the escargot, hanger steak, and roasted chicken. It was so delicious we enjoyed the environment, the service, and every bite was amazing. We plan to return and check out the rest of the menu.

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty
Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port
of call for folks in search of a good time and a great
story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs

around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively
well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the

I go there frequently and it's across the board from nice jeans and a polo to sport coats. Although, dress is mostly business casual. In the hot humid Summers patrons do wear dress shorts. It's mostly a French Quarter... More

I wouldn't go to any restaurant in Louisiana if you have a life threatening seafood allergy.

Located on a picturesque corner of the Vieux Carre, Meauxbar is a vibrant neighborhood gem. A typical evening finds an eclectic mix of French Quarter residents, locals from across the city, as well as out of town visitors. Accessible and smart, with a unique worldview, our food and beverage menus are reflected in locally-inspired, modern bistro fare created by Chef John Bel. Our menu rotates seasonally, though some classics remain throughout: Escargot with Shitake Mushrooms and Brioche Toast is a guest favorite. Our Moules Frites in a Pastis Broth with Garlic Fennel Aioli appeals to those in search of a Bistro classic, while our Lamb Loin with Celery Root & Potato Puree, Beets, and a Fig Demi Glace perfectly exemplifies Chef Bel's vision and style. Our wine program is Old World in style with some New World influences and is very approachable. Our core philosophy is centered around the whole dining experience: great food and service, memorable moments, culture, warmth, energy, and a celebratory feel. We want to be a part of our guests' lives.
