It was great food. This was the first time I've tried Thai food. My wife had been a bunch here and all around. Between her and our server, they put out a good sampler of what Thai food is all about. Everything was great! I'll definitely be back.

Went here with my wife on Easter weekend. It was not busy at all, which originally worried the both of us. The waiter was a little odd/off putting, but the food was amazing! I got the pad Thai lunch special, my wife got the yellow curry lunch special. I always defer to my wife when it comes to Thai food... More

My family and I enjoyed another outstanding referral from the Tripadvisor community. This restaurant hands down has the freshest Thai style food in town. The flavors and seasoning made every bite enjoyable. The unassuming decor and location also made us feel as we were enjoying a meal at a good friend's home. Finally, the prices were reasonable for the portions.... More

When walking in it doesn't look to fancy, despite its run of the mill facade it serves quite possibly the best Pad-Thai ever! Can't wait to go back!

I am a sucker for great thai food and Bangkok Thai is by far the best I have had in New Orleans. Parking is a little tough in this area of town so be aware of that. This also used to be kind of nasty inside (so I always ordered the food to-go) but the recently had a major one... More

The restaurant decor looks a little tired but don't let that fool you. The food is excellent and the service is with a smile. After you are full trying out the appetizers and curries, do not forget to try their Mango with Sticky Rice dessert... yummyyyy!!! If you are in the mood for Thai food, then give them a try.... I couldnt make up my mind on what to order as it all looked so good. So the 6 of us each got something different and split them all up. It was a splendid meal. If you like Thai food, this place is for you.

I think the presence of the biker-looking establishment (Cooter Brown's bar) and the tattoo parlor next door put people off when going to Bangkok Thai, but once you're inside the atmosphere is one of (perhaps a little faded) elegance. I have always had good food there. In particular I am fond of their pad thai with a twist - they... More

The other reviewers are spot on. We weren't expecting a lot given that we were in the middle of high season on the Cape, but this place was wonderful. We ended up eating here twice with great experiences both times. Particularly recommended are the pad thai, wonton soup and chicken teriyaki. Also helpful is that this place is open until... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
