Ten of us ate lunch here - booked for 1:30 so that we could have a tour of the many rooms afterwards. we ate off the fixed price 3 course lunch at $20.17. The 25 cents cocktail (limit 3) of the day was also thoroughly enjoyed. Oysters were magnificent as were all the other dishes including dessert. Friendly waiter JIMMY... More

Went for lunch. Did not have a reservation, but we were seated immediately. Two waiters to serve our table. Husband had the lunch special , from $20.17 menu. I decided to go with the grilled fish, Roquefort salad and grilled asparagus, with the Peach Melba dessert. We also ordered an Oysters Rockefeller, since they invented it! Oysters were okay. We... Celebrating our in-laws 42nd wedding anniversary, made reservations a month in advance to insure we could celebrate there as this was my in-laws request. I found the restaurant beautiful with its historic appeal and beautiful place settings. The food was average - was hoping for a more elevated type of menu options for the price of the meals. The Pims... More

Two business colleagues and I enjoyed Antoine's $20.17 three-course lunch. We were seated in the front dining room and enjoyed gumbo, oysters, softshell crab and more. Of course we could not resist ordering their renowned Oysters Rockefeller to start (regular price at lunch). We also enjoyed two loves of freshly baked bread and generous portions of butter. The 25 cent... More

Since childhood, I have relied on Antoine's to serve the best. The wait staff has slipped a bit and so has the food. The history is great and really tells a story of New Orleans itself. I was disappointed for the first time with my almandine and au gratin potatoes. The dress code is now relaxed. I miss the men... More

My wife has always wanted to go here for it's history. The food was good and is presented in a very lavish style- almost as many waiters / attendants in the room as diners. However, it is old-school. Almost to the point of being tired. If you want the history and experience then go. Our waiter gave my wife a... More

I was excited for a jazz brunch at Antoine's. One of the most famous restaurants in NOLA, we decided to come for jazz brunch. By the end we couldn't wait to leave. The servers were nice but not attentive at all. There were long gaps where we struggled to get anyone's attention. Very frustrating The restaurant itself was fairly boring... More

We spent a long weekend in the French Quarter recently and had made reservations to eat at Antoine's. The whole experience was just sort of disappointing. I thought the service and the food were just sort of mediocre for the hype and the price. We sat by the window in the first dining room as you enter. The room was... More

We stopped in the day before we wanted to have dinner in the restaurant and it was fairly booked up so we had to be seated at 5:30 which is the earliest reservation they take. We showed up 15 minutes before our reservation and found a large number of waiters standing in the main dining room. One gentleman (Austin)walked over... More

We sat in the second dining room, and it was massive. It was bustling with business at 7:30pm. Pay attention to the history, it really helps the atmosphere sink in. This really is a wonderful family-owned restaurant and I would come all the way back to New Orleans just to eat here again. Dress formal because you are going to... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
