My husband and I enjoy our twice per year trip to New Orleans. We tend to visit restaurants outside the typical tourist areas. This restaurant is one of our favorites. It is a friendly local spot. Lots of customer to customer interactions. The food as always was great - we ordered one meatball/Italian sausage spaghetti, one of red beans &... More

Having heard about this place forever, I was expecting so much more. First, too loud due to terrible acoustics. Not a huge deal, as it's NOLA. Service was clumsy and slow. The food, although large portions, was mediocre at best. It felt more like a cafeteria experience than a restaurant. Everything served was lower end than the prices dictated. We... More

It's been over 20 plus years since I have visited to dine here. Called from another spot and asked about table wait which was at 30-40 minutes on a Saturday night. Headed over and got on the list, had a glass of Pinot and waited for our name to be shouted over the din of noise in the still charming... More

We were looking for a quick lunch but local fare. We were recommended here by a friend. We got there about 11:45 as traffic was picking up. We left at 1:00 and there was a wait. We all basically had soup and sandwiches. Some turtle soup some gumbo. All were good. Don't freak when you find a couple large pieces... More

I love so much about Mandina's, particularly the "feel" of this neighborhood restaurant. I go a couple of times per year just hoping the food gets better. Unfortunately, it doesn't and I need to scratch Mandina's off of my list. On my last visit, I had the "Gulf Fish" Almandine which should be a no brainer. Unfortunately what should have... More

Mandina's is a New Orleans tradition where the food is good and dependable, the service is friendly, and you feel like you have stepped back in time. Order the staples of N. O. cuisine like red beans and rice on Monday, gumbo, oyster loaf, etc. you won't be disappointed

Great food. Lot of it and more than enough for a big appetite or two people could share a meal. True New Orleans style plus pastas and other choices.

We stopped here on our way to a concert, didn't make a reservation because it was Sunday at 4:30, boy were they already packed and after getting our food we could see why. The staff was wonderful, very attentive, but the food was stellar. If you get the chance stop and check them out, the wait was worth it.

Great place for family. Saturday night it gets crowded but worth the wait. Food was good, although I ordered their Fried Chicken and the four pieces were a lot smaller than normal. Because the number of large groups service was a little slow but over all still a good place to eat.
