We visited the location inside the airport and it was simply not good. We had the Jambalaya platter, Redfish and the sweet chili shrimp--all terrible. They could tell we didn't like the food so the did comp a dish and a side. On the positive...More

We recently had lunch at Dooky Chase while visiting NOLA. We had been wanting to visit this historic restaurant for several years. We chose the lunch buffet, which is traditional, homemade, creole food. We arrived just as it opened so we were seated immediately and...More

Our family ate here during our recent trip to New Orleans. The service was very good and food was delicious! The best peach cobbler I ever tasted! I will definitely return the next time I visit New Orleans.

This was definitely the best food we had while in New Orleans, and is a must-do experience! The service is incredibly gracious and friendly - make sure to dress nice (like dress-up for church on Sunday nice) or you may feel a little out of...More

For the price of the buffet, it wasn't worth the hype. Maybe it's because I'm from the South, and grew up on soulfood, and my entire family can cook. It was good food, but certainly not worth $20 for lunch. African slaves were given only...More

My friend and I went for dinner which is only done 1 night a week. Loved the vibe and decor. You get a sense of the history in those walls and overall feeling of awe. I almost didn't feel worthy to be in such a...More

Dooky Chase has a bountiful and delicious lunch buffet. Even if you only sample everything on offer, you will be stuffed, and that's before the dessert comes out. The highlight for us was the chance to meet Leah Chase, a beautiful woman in her mid-90's...More

With such a warm welcome at the door, and with such reviews as we've read, there were very high expectations for Dooky Chase. It is one of the oldest run restaurants in New Orleans and everyone local seems acquainted with it in some form (including...More

Dooky Chase is now basically a lunchtime operation, with a dinner service on Friday evenings. For lunch you can visit the buffet, or order from an ala carte menu. I won't repeat all the history this place has experienced during the civil rights movement, but if...More

The lunch buffet was nice but the food was just ok. The best thing on the table were the fried chicken and the sausage. Service was prompt and efficient.

That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi
that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere
else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the
streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered
to be the very best of New Orleans culture and
tradition is, put simply, just how people go about
their daily lives in this historic part of town. As

There is a lot of parking in the area. Walking while it's light is fine that said, I would think twice about walking at night.

I don't believe they have any gluten free items. That have a limited menu that is absolutely amazing. But I would call to be sure. They will most likely not reply back on here.
