Consistently good food & service in a lively atmosphere. Always hard to choose from their menu! Love the spicy chicken teaka. Nice Greek salad comes with all plates. Finish every meal with Jordan almonds! Easy access right on streetcar line.

Great food. Great Service. I love the smells coming from the kitchen. Inside and outside seating. Take away available. Fun environment depending on the crowd. Bring your own bottle if you need a touch of alcohol.

We seen this place while riding the St.Charles street car, we decided to go back the next night for dinner. WOW...we were glad we did, the food is amazingly tasty. We had an order of Cabbage rolls for an appy, it was so delicious, you can actually order it as a meal instead. Which I would do on our next... More

I can't believe I've not raved about Lebanon's Cafe. We've been coming here for years---definitely since before Katrina because I remember being so happy when they finally reopened. Where to start? First of all, the place brings to mind some sort of Indiana-Jones-rendezvous joint. It's got the walls painted to look like plaster and all sorts of decorative artifacts adorn... More

Located well outside the tourist district, we found this restaurant at the far end of the St. Charles streetcar line. Apparently more of a locals favorite, the atmosphere is casual, the prices are great, and the food is excellent! They have perhaps the best lamb chops I have ever eaten, and the hummus and pita bread (served with most meals)... More

My family and I ate here while visiting the crescent city. The food was excellent. Savory, well seasoned and served in abundance. The cafe is right on the Carollton street car line so it is easier to ride the street car due to very limited parking in New Orleans. The food is priced relative to the city being a tourist... More

This is a unique experience to sample Americanized Middle Eastern food. The locals rave about it and the place is jammed at all hours. But I'm a food snob so I wasn't overwhelmed. In compliance with sharia laws, no liquor is served. You have to bring your own and many do. The appetizers were very tasty and spicy with chick... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
