After reading a lot of glowing reviews of Clancy's (Times Picayune 10 Best NOLA Restaurants for 2016), we came here expecting a LOT, and were sadly underwhelmed. It does have an excellent wine list, and our appetizers (a boston salad and pan-seared gnocchi) were fabulous; however, there were a lot of "downs" to our experience that will keep me from... More

We loved Clancy's at the last visit - dinner. We visited for lunch on a Friday. The crowd is "very" local. Lots of fancy hats and sportcoats. We dined at the bar - our guilty pleasure. Lunch was really disappointing. The menu is very abbreviated and both of us struggled to find things that even interested us. My wife had... More

What an experience from service to atmosphere to food. We given this restaurant as on a recommendation ... was unbelievable. Located in a converted 2 story house... It was a foodies dream come true

This was our first restaurant of the weekend and we are so happy we set the bar high here! Our waiter was wonderful and suggested alternatives/enhancements to the items on the menu. Everything was delicious! We were seated upstairs which was a little less congested.

This place is a very popular neighborhood restaurant with super high noise levels and so-so food. Perhaps it was the noise but wrong versions of entrees were served but after waiting hours we didn't send back. Totally not impressed with the steam table kind of vegetables, uncomfortable chairs, etc. Lively crowd of locals that must love it. Delicious lemon pie... More

The waiters are wearing tuxedos...so prepare for a special night. The staff here is superb and the food was incredible. They were excellent with allergies. The seared sea scallops, smoked duck and ice-box lemon pie were all fantastic but nothing disappointed. A wonderful spot for a special (and pricey) night out!

What a treasure of a place! We shared the eggplant with sweet pepper aioli , the scrumptious crawfish beignets, and an absolutely wonderful crab salad--and then, lemon icebox cake and housemade peppermint ice cream. Can't say enough about the ambiance, service and delicious food!

Best place we ate at during our 5 days in New Orleans. I'd put it in the category of just an excellent gourmet restaurant with a creole and southern flare ... not really the place to go to have "cajun" or "creole" food per se. But I can't imagine I won't return next time I am in New Orleans. My... More

Clancy's came highly recommended by a friend who grew up in NOLA. Unfortunately we did not have a reservation but arrived early enough to sit at the bar and eat. Met super nice people and the food was fabulous. It was fresh, hot, and the taste was amazing. A definite must when you visit.

Went here during Mardis Gras. Everything was great. Due to the parades it took us over an hour to get there (4 miles). I called to inform them we would be late for our reservation and they told us no problem. When we got there it felt like home. Although we did not know anyone it appeared everyone else did... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
