This is one of the restaurants that I imagine most people try due to its fine looking surroundings and it's location right in the center of the French Quarter. The food lived up to the decor, the service was slow but we weren't in any rush so it didn't make any difference. We went for lunch but i imagine this... More

We had a small group in for a work conference and decided on Muriels as we heard it was a great place to go. It did not disappoint. The food was spectacular and someone in our group had the Shrimp and Grits and said it was the best thing she's ever had! I had the pork chop, which people rave... More

Visited Muriel's recently with family and had a great dinner. I have multiple, severe food allergies and had read about Muriel's exceptional allergy awareness online. Was not disappointed! I'd survived in New Orleans on mostly red beans and rice and arrived hungry at Muriel's. Was able to eat a fabulous three-course dinner with no problems and nearly cried over the... More

I did not get a reply to an email asking them for a reservation. I resent my email, but - nothing. To me a no go. After that I did not even consider going there to ask for a reservation. I plan ahead and getting a reply is crucial for me.

I have dined twice in past couple of years. The service, food, location, ambience is among the best of NOLA. I cannot say enough about the quality of this restaurant, its staff, menu, service and overall experience. Highly recommended. BTW was there for TG dinner 2016.

So good! Great food and wonderful service. Favorite dish was the shrimp and goat cheese crepes. Classic New Orleans restaurant.

Description
The Bistro at Muriel’s Jackson Square offers New Orleans classics like Gumbo, BBQ Shrimp, Oysters "Muriel", Turtle soup, Fried Gulf Shrimp Po-boy, Crabmeat Imperial, Shrimp Remoulade & contemporary Creole cuisine like Pecan Crusted Drum & Wood Grilled Tuna while the Courtyard Bar is the perfect place to drop by for drinks & appetizers. The Séance Lounge is the place for a relaxed, comfortable meeting before or after dining. Comprised of two areas, The Outer & The Inner Séance, the Séance also tells the story of a mystic & checkered past. The Outer Séance addresses the New Orleans era of Storyville & when Muriel's Jackson Square was one of the French Quarter's best bordellos! The Inner Séance is the preferred domain of the resident ghost, Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan, & is the perfect spot for an intimate conversation & a drink amongst its plush surroundings.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
