We went to Muriel's off of a recommendation from the forum, all I can say is Thank You for the recommendation! Wow it was great. Very nice atmosphere, feels like a fine dining restaurant, and reasonably priced. For appetizers, my hubby ordered the Baked Oysters and I had the Wild Mushroom Gnocchi. It was so delicious! I probably should have... More

My husband and I stayed at the Place du Armes right down the street from Muriel's. Every night during our stay in the French Quarter, we would head to the bar at Muriel's and have a nightcap in Arlene's station. She was so delightful. Very friendly and always had great drink recommendations. On our last night in NOLA, we had... More

Absolutely fantastic! The menu was very interesting and the food did not disappoint! The restaurant's decor has a historic old charm feel, old pictures on the walls, bricks, then the restrooms have some very cool modern art pieces. My favorite meal in New Orleans.

This restaurant has decor that goes back more than 200 years and the private rooms upstairs are a glimpse into the past when New Orleans was it was then. More French and classy interiors belonging to that period.

We met friends here for lunch, upon their recommendation. They're local and have dined here on many occasions since the restaurant opened 15 years ago. The setting is elegant, fine dining in an ancient building haunted by at least three ghosts. If you choose to sit at the bar, watch for glasses flying across the room of their own accord.... More

I visited with my husband for Valentines Day, and we had a wonderful time. Everything was top notch. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the goat cheese crepes and crawfish appetizer. My filet melted in my mouth and was paired beautifully with a Cabernet Sauvignon by recommendation. I finished with creme brûlée that was also fabulous. My husband had... More

We just loved this place. From the exterior architecture to the detailed interior. The staff is so professional and friendly. The food is outstanding. And there is a decent wine list. We made reservations for a Friday night around 6 - prior to seeing a show at the Le Pettit theater. They offer a Prix Fixe and regular menu. My... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
