I would highly recommend Saturday brunch in the Garden Room at Commanders. The food, atmosphere and service are impeccable. Commanders continues to deliver great culinary experiences year after year.

This is my favorite brunch / lunch destination. I love Commander's for brunch because it is so festive with live jazz, colorful balloons, bottomless cocktails and exceptional food! I love Commander's for lunch because of the 25 cents martinis. Yes, you read that right. Mind...More

smart casual, I saw people in shorts, if by dinner jacket you mean a tux, he'll be mistaken for a waiter.

10vet0tra has it exactly right. They will remind you when you reserve or when they call you to confirm. It is a fun, lively restaurant, but not the kind of place you would feel comfortable in wearing shorts.

Description
Commander's Palace welcomes everyone but we do have a dress code. It's a festive atmosphere! Shorts are never allowed. Inventive modern New Orleans cooking coexists with our Haute Creole. Sense the team's professional grace clothed in the warmth of the Brennan Family's brand of hospitality. From your first sip of a Sazerac to your last crumb of bread pudding soufflé, we hope you are pampered and delighted...and go ahead be a little bad...that's what living in New Orleans is all about.
