We had been to many of the "famous" restaurants during our recent stay and happened to walk by GW Fins and look at the menu. We were very fortunate to get a reservation for our last night in New Orleans and what a treat it was! Everything was excellent. Starting with outstanding smoked oysters and moving on to Wahoo and... We had a relaxing and fun evening having dinner here. The service was excellent and the food was very well prepared. The appetizers and entrees had a light and enticing flavor. A plus for us was that the server was very helpful with our need to be gluten free. The house made sorbets, and especially the chocolate mousse bombe, was... More

Best tip I can give: RESERVE EARLY! Know when you want to go and make a reservation. No one was able to walk in from the street while we waited for our table and they were booked for the rest of the night. There's a reason it's difficult to get a table and why it's at the top... it's everything... More

This was one of my best experiences in any restaurant. The service could not be beat and the food was beyond expectations. By 6:15 the place was packed on a Tuesday evening. The menu is printed each day based on what was fresh. Nice selection of sea food, one steak, a chicken dish and a vegan plate, good wine selection.... More

Well there is a reason that GW Fins is one of the hardest places to get a reservation in the Quarter right now, but planning two months ahead payed off! The service, thanks Scott, the food, thank you kitchen minions, and the luxurious atmosphere all combine to give you a Michelin star or two, or three dining experience. From our... More

My husband and I went to GW Fins on Wednesday night for dinner without a reservation. The place was so packed and was told there was only late night availability. We sat at the entrance Of the bar where you can only order drinks and asked the bartender(BRENDA) if we could have dinner In the bar area. She said yes... More

We recently had the best meals at GW Finns. Our fish dishes were just the best. The atmosphere was so upbeat. Loved the seating arrangements. The manager made sure he came by to check things out. Our waiter was attentive. Can't say enough good things. My only complaint is that our waiter, Oliver, rushed over to grab the check at... More

My wife and I had the pleasure to dine here last week, one of the best dinners we've ever had. Went with the Lobster dumplings (phenomenal!) and the Sizzling Oysters (very good). The Scalibut was fantastic as was the fish of the day Snapper. The salty malty pie was outrageous. Our server, Kevin G was absolutely great! Sat in a... More

Description
Experience the cuisine that has created raving fans of local diners and national and local food critics alike. Chef Tenney Flynn (two time winner of "Chef of the Year" in New Orleans Magazine) ensures the highest quality seafood by flying in products from around the globe and featuring only the best from local waters - both at their seasonal peak. This commitment to freshness and variety are two of the many reasons GW Fins prints its menu daily and has received numerous glowing reviews in The Times-Picayune (4 beans), Food & Wine, Southern Living and Esquire magazines. We look forward to serving you soon so we may learn what you think.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
