The food here wasn't bad. The service was mediocre at best. We were a party of 5, in a place that might seat 20-30 people. We had to sit at the counter because they didn't have a table to fit 5 and they will not allow you to move tables together. We ate here because it was open (24/7) and... More

I got a huge breakfast at a reasonable price here. Everything is quite greasy (so much butter on the grits that it looked like an egg yolk), but also reallyyyy tasty. It's very small, but if you're just looking for basic old diner food, this is a good choice. I had a massive omelet with really good mushrooms and onions... More

If you like off the beaten path and an entertaining meal you will love this place. We loved it so much we went for breakfast two days in a row. The food is all grill food, it's not salads if that is what you expect. The breakfast it wonderful and great for after a night on the town. We even... More

I lived next door to the Clover Grill for almost 3 years. The only time it closed was briefly during Hurricane Katrina. It was my go-to restaurant for coffee. It is your basic American food type place. Nothing fancy. Almost nothing for Vegans. It is central to the Quarter Life and across the street from La Fittes in Exile. It... More

The food was great but a burger is $6.95 and if you want anything on it you pay extra. Bacon is $2 extra fries don't come with it.

Such a shame to see an iconic destination fall into total total disrepair. Filth and trash sum up the ambiance here. Burgers were overcooked entirely dry. Both burgers were incorrect to what we ordered. No ice cream for 3.5 weeks we were told so no shakes or malts. There is grease streaming down the walls. Corners were compounded with dirt/debris.... We went in for breakfast as several friends had recommended it. The grill and food prep area was filthy, dirty dishes all over the counter, and no one ever waited on us! After 10 minutes, we left without so much as a "good morning" from anyone! One server was on her cell phone and completely ignored us. Waste of time.

Would I always eat a burger and fries before bed? Of course not! However, if you're going to the French Quarter, you need to experience The Clover Grill. Open 24 hours a day, its like a trip back in time. It seems like something straight out of the 1950's. You'd half expect to see Marty McFly sitting at the counter.... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
