This bar isn't fancy and it's cash only, but the drinks are cheap and strong. Stopped by on our way back from the market. Seems like a lot of locals hang out here so it was nice chatting with them. Pool table is only $0.75, so if you feel the urge to grab a beer and shoot, stop in. Nice... More

We expected to walk in a dive bar and were pleasantly surprised. This is a neat little place. The patrons were locals as the bartender knew them by name. Bartender was friendly and gave us some good advice about other places to stop. Nice patio in the back with food service. However you have to walk to the bar for... More

MRB bar is a good place to meet up before going to Irene's, just up the street, or having an after-dinner cordial. The bartender, Candace, is probably the nicest woman in New Orleans.

We were in New Orleans the night before a cruise. We went to watch the Joan of Arc parade with a friend who lives in New Orleans and we're looking for a place to eat. It was the coldest night in New Orleans in two years last weekend. The door was open to this bar and restaurant so we went... More

This is one of mine and my husbands most favorite spots in the French Quarter. We've been stopping in for years. We lived in the area for awhile, but with my husband being in the Army, we move around a lot. We always end up back in New Orleans and make sure we end up on one of MRB's bar... More

Waited over an hour for our food, ordered chargrilled oysters, they were barely warm and had stones and debris in them. Woman working took 20 minutes just to bring out our drinks. The only decent part is that the courtyard is family friendly so we could bring our kids and the kids loved the dog in the bar.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
