I've been wanting to come to cats meow for a year when I finally get the chance my wife was asked to show her I.d which wasn't good enough (uk driving license)wanted a passport to prove her age which is 39 not an 18year old there's no way she was going to carry her passport at night down bourbon street... Love the place. I would have given it a 5 but, the song choices were small. They should get with it and be up to date., computer digital. 100,000 song choices. Way behind the times. Drinks are reasonable.

This is another of the endless bars that line both sides of Bourbon Street. This place was all karaoke both nights we visited. The nice part here is you can also go outside in the back or even better, upstairs to avoid the karaoke crowd if you like. Their balcony overlooks the lunacy of Bourbon street from a nice perch... This was so much fun we went for 2 night. The selection of songs is limited but what they do offer is good stuff. The MC makes this place a must on your next visit to New Orleans.

The Cat's Meow is an awesome two level karaoke bar on Bourbon St. Its absolutely hilarious to watch all of the drunk people sing and dance on stage. There is also a balcony on the second level that offers guests views of the drunken people walking up and down Bourbon as well. Casual environment and good drinks!

Although we didn't have any sever, had to go to the bar for drinks it was a fun place to visit the action, take in some action and be silly...the drinks are about as expensive here as anywhere else, the entertainment and stepping out on the balcony to view weird'os was nice...

We went here on a monday evening so the crowds weren't too crazy, but it was a total hoot. I think my face hurt from smiling and laughing after watching the Karaoke host for a good deal of the evening. We were able to sing a couple of tunes, the hurricanes were great and effective, and the vibe was really... More

Great happy hour brought us in, but the karaoke kept us there. When going early, you get a lot of access to the mic. Hosts were there to support us "average" singers. Went there three of four nights.

Music was good; no draft beers - good selection of beer bottles. Small and cramped but worth checking out!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
