This locally owned company has been making great frozen confections for as long as i can remember. Fresh fruits, Vietnamese coffee, Basil, Coconut, interesting season favorites. Its hot here in the summer and these are a delicious way to cool down. Available year round. Absolutely my favorite deserts in the city.

Delightful place. Salted caramel popsicles! Love the flavors in Gelato and they are great popsicle flavors too. Also enjoyed the organic lavender popsicle. The aroma and flavor were very soothing and it was tasty - different but tasty. Not the easiest to find and I was warned hours did fluctuate. It is amazing to find a business owned by a... More

Can't beat one of these refreshing treats on a hot day! We love that they are made of natural ingredients not loaded with processed sugar.

New location but worth the trip down to St. Claude. The satsuma dreamsicle was incredible and made with fresh ingredients. This place always has the most interesting flavors that are hand made using healthy local sourced fruits. The owner, Michelle is a true "Popsicle Wizard". A must stop for dessert if you are in the Big Easy.

Love, love, love the salted caramel, Very addictive Popsicle ;) They were once on Dumaine Street and then moved. I was very sad and wished I had gone more. Very happy when I saw them at the French Outdoor Market.

I had read about Meltdown in a travel planner a couple months before my husband and I went to NOLA. I'm a fan of home made ice pops and decided then and there I'd give it a try; boy am I glad I did! I've had a lot of ice pops in my day, but these ones take it. The... More

Meltdown popsicles was our last stop on a foodie bike tour (see my separate review for Confederacy of Cruisers). They were refreshing after a few hours in the sun. The flavours were interesting and yummy. I had the Peach honey and my husband had the salted caramel. I hoped that mine would have a bit more peach flavour and be... More

We walked by this store 3 times - never open. The hours posted on the door said they should be open but no way. Really bummed. It was so hot and we really wanted to try their frozen treats. Maybe next time.....

I tried the Salted Caramel popsicle at this year's Freret St Festival, so I haven't seen the shop, just the food truck, but it was very nice and service was good, as was the price. They ended up running out so I couldn't get seconds (sad face) but the popsicle was awesome, more like a fudgsicle in texture. I definitely... More

Staying in Ninth Ward

Neighbourhood Profile
Ninth Ward
People focus too much on the hardships so closely associated with this well known working class neighborhood when what’s really most remarkable about the tightknit community is its indefatigable spirit of rebirth and ability to stay true to its roots. Perhaps not an ideal destination for those visitors who tend to keep well within their comfort zones when traveling or those with bucket lists filled to the brim with top tourist attractions, the Ninth Ward is nonetheless there for those who are most keen to discover the places they encounter. But it’s not all about learning lessons when going to the Ninth Ward. With its “Living Museum” and “steamboat houses” and a long enduring dedication to preserving local culture, there’s more than enough to see and do during a daytime tour of the area.
