We’d heard a lot about this place and so we went. OMG! The beignets melt in your mouth. Forget about the calories and just enjoy. I also brought back a cup with the logo as a wonderful reminder. A must when in New Orleans!

Classic stop that lived up to its reputation. Just grab a table. Try to go early. I went about 9am and got a table right away. By the time I passed by at 11am the line was down the block. Reasonably priced with good coffee...More

Make sure you are not waring Black pants when you go to this New Orleans staple. The powered sugar which is piled high will get everywhere. I really enjoy doing some people watching at this place as everyone’s face has a rim of sugar around...More

We went there for the classic beignets. They were great and are very similar to Italian zeppoli. They only except cash so be aware of that. There was a long line but it was mid day. They are open 24 hours a day.

We went here because is a thing to do, best place I ever ate by respected chef Alton Brown. I was expecting this fritters to be more like an elephant ear from the fairs, crunchy, tasty, sweet. instead is just fried dough, yes fried flour...More

The wait to sit down at Cafe du Monde can be brutal but the line for food-to-go is considerably shorter. It is worth trying one of their beignets-they’re a bit smaller than Cafe Beignet’s beignets which I liked- and cafe au lait.

We sampled a large variety of beignets in New Orleans (tough duty) and found these to be the best. The wait can get extensive, though ours varied from short (a couple of minutes) to none. However, we walked by late morning on a weekend and...More

Just have too go! Not the same anywhere else. Have cash and you pay when served so people can't ditch. It is seat yourself and constant turn over. We did not have a wait at 9 am on a Thursday morning.

Cafe Du Monde was a perfect start to our day. We had two orders of beignets and a large coffee each. Beignets were hot and delicious so was the coffee. You gotta go try them.

A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty

Bruce, There are no savory beignets at Cafe Du Monde. You can have regular beignets or pralines. There are two types of coffee there, French Roast or Chicory. The line is always long and always moves fast. There is... More
