I was first introduced to these creamy delights by a co-worker who always visits New Orleans every year. She brought some to work to have us try some and I was hooked! You have to try these if you have a sweet tooth. They are just perfectly sweet and creamy and very addicting. If you don't want to carry it... More

We were told when coming to NOLA to try pralines and this was one of the highest rated places, and for good reason. They're sweet and have a perfect texture. We also got a sampler box with pralines, mississippi mud and turtles, all of which were very good. Kind staff too!

The pralines and other candies like the delicious Tortues are the best in the city! I regularly stop there for movie treats, as well as for thank-you gifts for hosts/hostesses. My favorites are the original creamy, but they're all good!

We never come to NOLA without a visit to the Southern Candy Company. Hands down, they have the best pralines in NOLA - really anywhere! Don't miss stopping by on your next trip to the Big Easy.

They have posted signs and awards declaring theirs to be the best pralines in New Orleans. TRUST THEM! Super friendly service and tasty treats that continue to delight the tongue long after they've vacated your palate.

After having sampled pralines from almost every candy maker in the French Quarter, my husband and I decided the pralines from Southern Candymakers are our absolute favorites, no question! Of course, they have an entire shop of various sweets, They are generous with their samples, and staffed by personable, friendly people.

Creamy pralines weren't the creamiest I've had, but the peanut butter praline was good. Peanut butter cups are more like a peanut butter sandwich. Nothing holds the peanut butter in so when you take a bite it explodes out the sides.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
