A flight includes six, six ounce pours. That's a lot, so share it with a fiend. Nice atmosphere. Got one beer in our flight that we didn't like and asked Heather to change it out for one we did like, she did- no problem. That's great service!

Although I grew up in Mad City, I love making a stop at Ale Asylum my first priority when returning for a visit. It's located on the road from the airport and really helps set the tone for city. It's large, friendly and welcoming any time of year. Oh yeah, they have some pretty awesome beer and food too.

We were visiting friends and it was our first time in WI. Our first stop was Ale Asylum. We ate and had beers - We started with a flight that included Madtown Nutbrown, Spawn Series IPA #19, Velveteen Habit, Bedlam, & Off Switch (then went on to drink a few pints of our favorites). They were all really good. The... More

I have started coming here on a somewhat regular basis for the last couple of months, and I really don't have any critique of this place. From the food, to the beer, to the location, to the service, to the building, I've never had any issue that I can think of. First, in terms of the location, it's in a... More

We tend to hit this place whenever we have large groups in for work gatherings. They have a smaller bar upstairs with a lounge area perfect for large groups. Good is great and the beer is even better. Also it's very close to the airport.

Good place to talk, grab a beer, and have something to eat. Great atmosphere. If you're wife and friends like a nice place to have a great beer. This is the place to stop.

We love Ale Asylum beers and enjoyed finally visiting their Tap Room. Thankfully we looked on TripAdvisor and saw they offered a sampler, because the waitress did not offer it and had to go get us the sampler list when we asked. It allowed us to taste six brews and decide which ones to take home with us. The chips... More

First, it's about the beer. Second, it's about the beer. They also have interesting food ( not the ordinary burger/fries here), very creative. Most of all, the staff really makes you feel welcome. Mary, we love you.

2013: Magnificent. Absolutely great beers. Very cool atmosphere and great service. It’s not in the center of the city but that’s why it was easy to reach by car. I definitely would like to visit again. 2016: And another visit. 15 beers on tap. Flight of 6 available. This time I wasn’t exactly as impressed. Slow and inattentive service but... More

Arguably the best tap room in Madison, maybe the best in Wisconsin. The limited food menu is better than you will find at most tap rooms. They almost always have some experimental beers on tap: Catnip for us beer geeks. Cocktails also available.
