We came in around 8 and had a good dinner here. They have a small-ish menu and no pizza, but all the food is very good. They also have a full bar and make good drinks. We enjoyed our meal a lot and would come back if we were in the area.

Having sampled Italy's 'real-deals' in dining from the Alps to Taranto way down on The Med, we found Nero's on the main drag of Cortez on US160 a refreshing, authentic surprise. Nero's is not fancy, but you can cound on great food at a reasonable price.

We have eaten at Nero many times while transiting this area. It was always a treat, one of our favorite restaurants anywhere. Ate there last night and we were very disappointed. The portions were very small (calamari, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken picata) and almost tasteless. It seems that the kitchen staff has turned over. In any case, we won't be... More

Stopped in for evening meal while on vacation. It is Italian but it is not a pizza place & no pizza on the menu. Relatively small inside but well appointed, cozy & comfortable. We were greeted & seated right away. Nice menu and specials. Reasonable prices on standard Italian dishes. We both ordered a house salad, I ordered chicken Alfredo... More

Small on main street of Cortez, an unexpected delicious Italian meal. Clean and attentive service, we ordered from the regular menu despite the tempting specials of the day. We both had house salads, mine with a creamy Chianti dressing and my husband had herbed ranch. Crisp fresh greens with grape tomatoes and olives. Entrees were soooo good, I had chicken... More

Wanted Italian on a Monday night and this was only place open. Lucky for us, as the food was great. Nothing fancy, just very good authentic Italian food, at a very reasonable price. Simple plates, flatware, and even quaint wine glasses I hadn't seen in twenty years. (After all, the restaurant has been here for over 30 years!) Favorite with... More

We were tired and needed to find a place to eat later at night. Our hostess had recommended Nero's and we had 45 minutes to unpack the car and get to town before the restaurant closed. We made it before closure. The staff were very helpful and we were seated right away. The food was wonderful to look at and... More

I'm no food critic so I don't have the best words for describing how delicious the food was. The balsamic dressing was different from any I've had. I could have eaten a soup bowl full! The pasta primavera was delicious - filled with sweet peppers, artichoke hearts, etc - a real treat!!

A small place with limited seating, but we were able to get a table for 3 right away on a Saturday evening. Our food was good, though the pasta didn't seem like much more than ordinary spaghetti. Better Italian-style food than we expected to find in Cortez.

Very nice, small restaurant. The waitress was attentive and the food was good. Would recommend stopping in if you are in the area.
