We stopped at this Dixie Café after a day at the Horse Races, and was really disappointed in the selections and prices, the same meals at the competition is much more reasonable. I had a plate of pasta, and the sauce was very thin and tasteless.

Being new to this area, we asked the hotel clerk where to get a good family style dinner and he recommended the Dixie Cafe. It was hard to make a dinner choice as there were so many. All dinners come with fresh baked rolls and jalapeño cornbread with whipped butter, and two sides (a lot to choose from). And for... More

The chicken tenders and sides were great. The chicken fried steak was stringy and chewy (I wouldn't recommend it).

We stopped into Dixie Café after going to the bathhouse on the Friday after Valentine's Day. We were trying to decide where to go and chose this honestly because we didn't want to sit in traffic anymore. We had a great experience. The server was very friendly and the manager was even more so. I had the chicken friend Chicken... More

Northerners start out with fried pickles and that warm from the oven halopena or corn bread with honey. Don't look for Philly or NY entrees. Indulge in southern offerings. You will be glad you did!

Stopped by on the way out of town and were surprised. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. Our Angelina was a sweetie. This was our first time there so we got a free dessert. Beware , this is a popular place on Sunday. Get there before church gets out if you can.

Went there Jan 1, for our black eye peas and pork. The place was really busy, had to wait to be seated, and had to wait a while to get our food. The waitress told us they were behind in the kitchen, the Manager even gave us a reduced bill. They apologized for the wait, we said it was ok.... More

I'd have to give this place an all around average score! It's good, and they have a big menu with lots of choices, so to that extent almost everyone should be able to find something here - but overall, across the board - nothing is great - it's just all middle of the road - good but average!

Our party of 8 went to DC for lunch after worship service and waited for nearly 45 minutes for a table. We watched family after family go in and sit down while we waited for a table. Instead of holding 2 tables together they kept filling them. Eventually, one of our party's member went in and saved to tables for... More
