Just got back to our hotel after a fantastic meal at L'Osteria. We had the burratta with olive oil & bread starter and 2 pastas. Wish we'd had room to try more. The burrata was perfect. I had gnocchi with gorgonzola cream sauce which was perfectly cooked. My husband had orchietta with bolognese, also cooked exactly as it should be. We had a half litre of the house red. It was drinkable, esp for the price, but if we'd been in the mood to celebrate we would try one of the bottles offered. Next time! The best part of the experience was having the owner sit down next to us to take our order and as so often is the case in Italy, he offered up all sorts of choices not on the menu. Really enjoyed our evening and although we only have 3 nights in Kampot, I suspect we will return. Grazie!

Had a wonderful Italian meal at L’Osteria. It’s a small restaurant and the owner/chef is Italian who is very warm and welcoming. Had an amazing pizza (better than in Italy), homemade pasta carbonara and a yummy lasagne. Don’t miss it if you’re visiting Kampot!

Good Italian food in Kampot. Ordered bruschetta to start, some gnocchi and pizza for our mains and some wine. Really great tasting food, the bruschetta was so tasty and garlicky! The owner was very helpful and helped us find where we could break our note as we only had a big note.

After visiting this small establishment with my partner this evening, we were welcomed by a member of Khmer staff who was friendly and accommodating. The owner himself was very helpful in offering his recommendations and in taking our order. Our starter came no problem, shortly followed by my partner’s pizza after around 15 minutes. These were both okay. The problem came when my food was undelivered after 45 minutes from ordering. After asking what the issue was with making my simple carbonara, I was told that the water was still boiling for the pasta. What water takes this time to boil? I think this guy must hold the world record for the time taken to make a carbonara. My partner was unable to enjoy her meal as she was slowly picking, waiting for my dish to arrive (as it is not good manners to eat when your company still has not received their food). Therefore it was an extremely unsatisfying experience. Finally, after 45 minutes anxiously waiting for this water to boil….…., I told the owner I was tired of waiting and that it was a ridiculous situation. I was greeted with rude, aggressive and arrogant behaviour. I was told, “the water is boiling,” to which I replied, “water does not take that long to boil.” He was very very hostile and was not accepting that it was a ridiculous excuse he had made. Finally, he bluntly agreed for us not to pay or receive the carbonara (it’s a shame we didn’t get to taste the long awaited, boiled pasta). I read in one of your rude replies to another customer who reviewed your restaurant on this platform, that you always compensate your guests if something goes wrong. We were met with nothing, not even an apology. It seemed you are so up yourself, that you could not accept that you may have messed up an order. It seems your small restaurant is something of a hobby, rather than a successful business. If it takes you 45 minutes (longer for the finished product) to make a single carbonara, then I feel incredible sorry for your business productivity and profit margins. I look forward to your rude and obnoxious response (which I am sure I will receive!) I’m equally as sure that this will not contain even a hint of apology.

Well, I start by saying that I don't like expressions like "productivity", "finished product" and to be honest it wouldn't be your business either; I answer badly to those who insult me or tell lies and this too would be none of your business; Your girlfriend waited because the water wasn't boiling - what can I do? - I brought you the pizza first just because you could eat that while you were waiting for the pasta, I didn't offer you anything else because you walked in like crazy to say that it was too long that you waited and that you wanted to leave and that you only paid for what you have already received, I pointed out that it was almost ready but you did not want to listen to me, considering this I did not insist and - obviously - I did not propose another dish in alternative, on apologies maybe you should apologize, not me, but let's let it go ....... I conclude my polite answer by noting that someone had never taken my "times" as if I were in a factory, I say: you are on vacation with your girlfriend in Cambodia, a beautiful country, and you get so angry about a wait at a restaurant ? but just relax, investigate your anger ........... finally, yes you discovered me !!!!! actually how I work I repair bicycles and catering for 10 years is a hobby, enjoy your meal !!!

This little Osteria is a perfect place for a really decent pizza. The chef being from Napoli sure knows his craft of making pizza. In this city you have to because there are dozens of pizza places, but this one actually has similarities with the original back in Napoli. And it doesn’t include the word “Happy”.

It has been difficult to find it, however worth searching for it for 3 times. L'Osteria is located just out of the old center in a quiet road nearby. Look for the music instruments shop and you will find it just there nearby. It is the only restaurant in this road, but do not look for a big signboard. Small restaurant, therefore perfect ambiance, and delicious food. What to try? I believe anything is worth: lasagna, carbonara and pizza were great and house wine was good too. We will certainly go back during our next Kampot visit

Cozy restaurant on a quiet street, perfect for a relaxing dinner. The menu offers something for most tastes and dietary requirements (perhaps not gluten-free, I can't remember the whole menu). We ordered pizza, which was good, but I regretted not ordering the home-made pasta when I saw it arrive at the table beside us. The owner is cordial and attentive, and we found the service to be good.

Little gem in a quieter street... We visited during a long weekend school holiday. Come in time for your dinner as there are only a few tables! Expect to wait a while for your food too, BUT that's a good sign in my opinion, handmade food takes time, we really enjoyed our pizzas! Friendly owner too! One day we'll come again...

This little restaurant caught our eye as we walked through Kampot. We are so glad that it did. Warmly welcomed by the owner, who runs it on his own. Started salivating just reading the menu. We weren't disappointed by the food. Fantastic rustic homemade Italian cuisine. Definitely returning to try something else from the menu.

We had an incredible meal at L’Osteria! It was easily as good as any meal I had in italy. Highly recommend the burrata, which was fantastic! We also loved the cold cuts plate, which had incredible salami and prosciutto. The pasta is all homemade and has extensive choices that all could enjoy. Definitely come to this place especially if you’re craving some Italian food in Kampot!

I did find L’Osteria via trip advisor and was very happy that I did. Italian owned and run my parter and I shared the freshest burrata with Parma ham and salad. We could have been anywhere in Italy …highly recommended…it’s a small place so keep trying. We even shared freshly made tiramisu for dessert.

DELICIOUS homemade pizza, gnocchi and tiramisu! This place gets great reviews and it definitely lived up to the hype.. it did not disappoint!! So so good and I don’t just mean in SE Asia standards for Italian food... The owner is from Italy and the food is the real deal! It is a small, charming place with just a few tables! Prices very fair! Definitely recommend if you are looking for pizza or pasta in Kampot!

We visited again after four years. The restaurant has moved since then, but only around the corner. We were welcomed by the same owners welcoming friendly smile before he set too in the kitchen for us! Beautiful homemade soup and filled pasta. A gem in the central streets of Kampot!

One of the best homemade pasta I have ever entend. Even in Europe it is difficult to find such quality Italian restaurant. The owner was also very friendly and welcoming. We clearly did not expect to find such a gem in Kampot and what a pleasant surprise it was! You need to try those pasta!
