I’d met Chef Owen previous to my visit, we talked food and wine. Having worked in the industry for many years, taking conversations with chefs regarding their food ‘with a pinch of salt’ is something that becomes ingrained. Especially when that chef is operating in a country with limited resources. I started with a pickled beetroot and feta salad... Flavours perfectly balanced. With the sharpness of the beetroot complimented by the locally sourced cashew nuts. I’ve no idea where the Feta was sourced, but it is divine! A true taste of Greece, creamy and rich coupled with the house white (I didn’t ask the variety). I followed with today’s special, slow braised beef cheek with creamy mash in a red wine reduction. WOW! To say I feel like I am sat back in the UK after two years abroad is a big thing for me. The cheek fell apart at touch, as it should! The shallots adding a wonderful sweetness to the dish. My favorite bit? It came with a slice of buttered bread to mop up the sauce. Owen is a chef that clearly knows his craft! This is by a long shot the best meal I have eaten during my time here in Kampot and Cambodia! Bravo! A new ‘local’ has been found. I must also mention, skilled and polite service from confident servers throughout! Credit where credit is due! Now for desert.... 😋

Definitely unparalleled table in South of Cambodia, and for me one of the best within the whole country. We ate once with family and immediately it became a regular stop each time we are in Kampot. The chef has the magical talent to mix and fuse local influences with his world level knowledge of food ,having worked in top level hotels and restaurant in Europe. Each plate is a perfect balance between ingredients, without salty sweety of tricky sauce, it is pure, subtile and gentle. Total alchemy. Also the kids can enjoy main of the dishes, specially the complex ones, with is the best sign. The A la carte evolves every weeks, but some already famous local legends, as cheddar soufflé, gnocchi mushroomed, beef cheek, or few others are so good that the regular clientele would get mad and rioting if one day it disappears from menu.... They have also great collection of 15 more small batches beer from local and overseas, and the wine selection, bottle or glass is at the level of the food. Spotless. Last detail is the price is astonishing low for the plate. Best quality/price i have ever found. When you read other reviews, you can feel the community is unanimous about food, as well patient but sparkling service and atmosphere. I recommend it to any food lover.

My wife and I split the cheese soufflé, which was amazing, followed by the braised beef cheeks with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The meat was delicious, well-cooked and tender. Our kids enjoyed the chicken nuggets and fries on the kids’ menu (a lifesaver). Dessert was ice cream on a petit gateau with condensed milk, genial! Service was great, we definitely plan to return on our next visit to Kampot.

Just like pub or airport food. Simple. Basic. Clean and nice enough nothing wrong with it, nothing memorable. I wouldn’t call this a 5 star dinner. Nor do I think they claim or aim to be. This is exactly an average dinner for a fair enough to slightly high for the area price; again, just like airport food. Good if your craving something simple and familiar to what you might eat at home but otherwise not missing anything if you stick with soups, noodles, and local Khmer food

The best meal to end our stay in Kampot. The food was incredible. Yes- you will pay more. It is a fine dining experience in a casual atmosphere and the food is of excellent quality and taste. The cheese soufflé you have to order. The red snapper in pepper sauce was a taste sensation. Treat yourself!!

Still one of the best restaurants in Kampot! A dynamic and ever-changing menu of contemporaries, fusions, and classics suited to all palates. Locally sourced ingredients made with love and presented impeccably. They offer a diligently selected wine menu, and unpretentious service. Big favourite

Good quality food, european / french in style. The cheese souffle and the cauliflower were very good, large portions. For main we both had the gnocchi with mushrooms and spinach. It was good, again large portions, maybe too much gnocchi vs the veg in the dish. I think the menu could be improved by adding another vegetarian or maybe vegan main course. They have a good selection of craft beer and the brokenwood wine is good. I’d recommend coming here for a nicer meal when in Kampot. The price is a little higher than other places but so is the quality of food. bARACA would be my other choice for somewhere a bit ‘nicer’ whilst in town. Khmer Roots Cafe for lunch if you’re going to a pepper plantation!

We visited Twenty Three because we were told that they had an amazing shared starter platter. This was a lie. What they did have was incredibly delicious, and well balanced food, lovely service in a lovely spot. The middle of Kampot is a delight as it is, so to sit, eating fine food in a nicely outfitted space was a treat.

This small restaurant puts out some amazing food. We had the beetroot salad and the octopus appetizer for starters - both were excellent. For mains we had the beef cheeks and the sea bass - both cooked to perfection. We always appreciate when you can tell the owners, chef and staff take pride and care about the food and service being offered. It's a bit more costly (by Cambodia standards) but is worth every penny. Highly recommended.

My husband and I had dinner here - all I can say is wow! It was honestly the best pork belly I have ever eaten, as good if not better than Michelin restaurants in the UK. My husband had the sea bass and we shared an apple and mango crumble which was also absolutely delicious. We also had some wine which was very good. I did not expect to be eating french food this incredible in Cambodia - amazing.

We were a table of 6 so we wisely booked ahead. Some of us were a wee bit tipsy, especially myself, but the staff took it in their stride and were very patient with us. I know I had beef cheeks, which were excellent, and there was a cheese soufflé, a couple of plates of gnocchi, some sort of a salad, and er, something else meaty. Everything got eaten and we had no complaints at all. Delicious, and we all enjoyed ourselves.

Excellent Western food of the highest quality, such a treat in Cambodia. We had gravadlax and cheese souffle to start, the soufflé was outstanding. Then pork belly and sea bass, both generous portions of delicious and beautifully presented food. Service was really good too. We were really too full for desserts but the food was so food we couldn't resist the lime sorbet and chocolate caramel! Total bill was $63 including a bottle of wine for $18. Expensive for Cambodia but totally worth it. I'd recommend booking but walk-ins were possible on the Sunday evening we were there.

On our first trip to Kampot we stopped by for dinner at the recommendation of a friend. Tried the cheddar soufflé, the sea bass, and a few random sides. Those were wonderful. But the highlight for me was the dessert special which was a bread and butter pudding with vanilla ice cream. It was so tasty my girlfriend ordered a second one and she isn’t much of a sweet tooth. The staff was lovely and the service was great.

I ate dinner at Twenty Three one night in December and definitely recommend it! I started with Kep crab (ooh, now I understand why people rave about Kep crab!) and then had a scrumptious cheese soufflé— decadent! I enjoyed sitting on an outdoor terrace in the breeze from a fan and can’t praise my server highly enough — she was awesome!

We always go to Twenty 3 when we visit Kampot, and with good reason. We were quire surprised that we were the only customers when we arrived on a Saturday evening, but it was quite early, and more people arrived after us. We got excellent service, and of course the food was fantastic, too. I had a delicious coq au vi and my wife loved her fillet of seabass with clam sauce, chorizo and various veggies. The restaurant now sells a number of craft beers. Perfect.
