Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Simple Things is easily my favorite restaurant in Cambodia, offering fantastic vegetarian/vegan food and a joyous atmosphere. It's hard to decide what I love most about this special place. The food is deliciously cooked and generously sized, yet I still leave dreaming of more. The beautiful staff are warm and welcoming, making it easy to stay at the restaurant from open to close, enjoying breakfast, lunch, and dinner. No small detail is lost at Simple Things. Much like the food, even the cups, plates, and bowls are vibrantly unique and will bring a smile to your face. I keep returning to Simple Things to eat the food made with love, and every time I go back I feel as if I am returning home.

Centuries old Vegan recipes from Russia & Ukraine, to modern Fusion Vegan food which will set your taste buds dancing. Simple Things mixes modern cooking with ancient forgotten dishes, breakfast through to supper - you’ll leave having wished you were staying for longer. Try the Egg Plant caviar, with warm pita bread and their Café latte was to die for, mixed with coconut and cashew milk - simply magic! If you’re travelling back from Sihanoukville (yes, it’s a longer way to drive) or Kep - make a stopover In Kampot for lunch. The staff are amazing too! You will not find better Vegan food anywhere in Asia

It is probably the best quality of food I had so far in Cambodia with fair prices for what you get. Very warm and welcoming restaurant! All of the staff is super friendly and will make you enjoy the food or drink even more. I can absolutely recommend it to everyone visiting or living in kampot.

Average quality food is not worth changing the friendliness of the Khmers for the poor attention of this establishment. I have the feeling that if you do not fit the type of client they expect, they are not happy to assist you correctly. To avoid this, maybe it is convenient to bring tattoos, pircings or some kind of distinctive characteristic of the exclusive group to whom this business is oriented. They could be much more friendly and open minded, but honestly seems that they are not interested on it. What a pity.

Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing place to be! I don’t know where to start. Every single bite I take is always super delicious and every minute I spend there is nice (most of the time I probably spend bye staring at the endless vegan and vegetarian menu not knowing what to take). My all time favorites: the huge pizzas and the vegan cookies you can see below. The only thing what would make them even more amazing - if they where as gigantic as the pizzas ;). Thank you simple things and see you soon!

From the moment we walked in there was an atmosphere of relaxation and great vibes. The music sets up a fun and light mood. It is a comfortable place to work, eat, or have a small gathering with friends. And I enjoy the events that it host for the community. Art classes ,movie nights, yoga and a powerful women circle to name a few. Food is delicious and portion sizes will leave you feeling full. I am grateful for this oasis in the middle of the town🥰 I plan to go here as often as possible 💯👍🏾

I spend hours there from April to the begging of August. For breakfast before going to work, lazy days, online work... I liked going there. You even forget that it is a vegetarian place and order your food without checking all the ingredients. I love pizza and they have huge ones that are big enough to feed my pizza craving. The Mediterranean breakfast is a big portion that will feed you for the day. Smoothies are good, especially the Drive me nuts. I liked the fact that you can have a latte with cashew milk or coco milk. *If you order or take away all are put in a compostable box. Besides foods, they are always trying to have activities going on, drawing sessions, yoga, chess ... I love this place, this is what coffee should be, open, and relax. I worked on my computer there, read books, talk with friends most importantly I have met people. Even in the weird time of corona, they made their way to keep the business running with delivery, spacing the tables, and so on... Thanks to the team and to the owner gonna miss that place.

Simple Things is a vegetarian restaurant and Yoga studio in Kampot. The restaurant boasts a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, and the service is friendly and welcoming. It is a great place to settle in, relax, snack, and get some work done. Plus, they are open late if you need to burn the midnight hour. Smoothies, coffee, and healthy food are Simple Things claim to fame. Regretfully, we missed out on their smoothies (shame on us). All of the online reviews rave about them so don’t make the same mistake we did, order a smoothie or two or three when in town. While we may have missed out on the smoothie, we were very happy to dig into their amazing Vegetarian Burger. The burger was glazed in a delicious homemade barbeque sauce and served with a side of fries. We had a couple of beers to wash it down, but they also have locally brewed Kambucha which we recommend.

This place has amazing vibes. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They're always on top of the little things like water refills; they're always willing to engage in conversation (when they're not busy, of course). The owner is a big friendly giant. There's yoga upstairs, good indoor and outdoor seating. I mean if the food sucked (it doesn't) I'd still go here for the people and the vibe. But that's the best part, the food and coffee and tea are great! Where else in Kampot will you find Russian pancakes or real cashew and coconut milk?? Twelve out of ten would recommend. Easy.

It’s hip, it’s busy and the food is fresh and good. You need to come early for lunch or you might have to walk away again. It is not fast food as everything is made fresh. These young people has found the right recipe for modern concerned dining. Vegan and vegetarian only.

We must have visited about 6 times in our week stay in Kampot, thats how good it was. Breakfast was amazing and so was dinner, I honestly cannot fault anything. But the icing on the cake was a deconstructed vegan cheesecake, so yummy! The photo doesn't do it justice 😂

Western food, delicious but very pricey at the same time. One staff, the blondish American, was super friendly and smiley and the other girl was literally the polar opposite. She was almost annoyed that she had to work or something and gave off an uncomfortable vibe. Menu was huge , good choice of foods, spoiled for choice. Food was so fresh and tasty. We would have loved to try more on the menu but out of our budget. Nice treat and would recommend. Place is always busy!

A really wonderful restaurant. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious! Lots of choices, big portions and very nutritious options. I would highly recommend this restaurant in Kampot, even if you are not vegetarian. The mushrooms in oyster sauce was so interesting! Will be back!

This is my favourite restaurant in Cambodia! The falafel plate comes with hummus and pita bread and a lovely salad. The vegan cheesecake is AMAZING (just give it some time to melt a bit) and the coffee was tasty (they have vegan milk options). They also offer unlimited free drinking water (rare out here)! It’s beautifully decorated, with a really nice toilet and it also has an upstairs area with games and books.

I had the Big Mediterranean Breakfast and it was delicious. Warm pita bread served with olives, feta cheese, hummus, eggplant caviar, and tomato & cucumber salad. I highly recommend this place!
