The staff was very friendly, and the food was excellent. I had the grits with spinach and goat (very filling) and my daughter had the banana pancakes. We both were very full and liked our meals.

Because we drive through Greensboro every week and stop somewhere for dinner, we wanted to explore new restaurants outside of the handful we currently patron. The Iron Hen looked promising from their other TripAdvisor reviews, online menu, and pictures of their offerings. However, we left thoroughly disappointed after our meal. We arrived around 3 PM and were told we could... More

Had lunch here on 2 occasions recently. Very busy place and I can see why. Service was efficient and friendly. Food was very good- love that you get a deviled egg with your entree! I will come back and try the breakfast.

Stopped for a late lunch and everything was delicious. The homemade roasted vegetable soup was fantastic as well as the Salmon BLT. Service was friendly and swift. I will definitely be coming back!

Was looking for a vegan restaurant in Greensboro. Stumbled across this little hole in the wall and was impressed.Tofu scramble, home fries, and toast was great. Even the jam was good. A little on the pricey side for someone on a budget. Service was great. It is very small so expect a wait.

Traveling and stopped in for a quick bite and wait for traffic to thin out. I love shrimp & grits so I had to give them a try. The shrimp were large and cooked to perfection. Yummy sauce was Not too spicy. Served atop grits. They too were good. I like my grits a little creamier but these were good.... More

Read all the excellent reviews so had high expectations. Very friendly service and a good menu. Coffee was good and hot (my cappuccino was quite good). It took a while to get our food (egg scramble and cinnamon raisin french toast) and when it did arrive, the french toast and eggs were not very warm. Oh, and they forgot to... More

I've had breakfast and lunch several times and have enjoyed everything I've tried so far. However, my only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is it is a pricey meal. We go here for a special treat not a weekly thing. If you are on a budget like we are, save 'Iron Hen' for a special time and you... More

We are an owner-operated coffee shop, cafe, and catering company, with an award-winning chef. We serve organic, fair trade coffee; local, seasonal, and sustainable food daily. It is our mission to connect the food we serve to the farm it came from and to the people at our tables. We favor organic and North Carolina grown, but make concessions in both areas in order to highlight other farmers and producers with time-honored methods and very good products. We pride ourselves in being responsible both locally and globally, by recycling, reducing waste, and insuring all disposable products are eco-sound. We look forward to exchange between chef/staff and community in order to grow, and to meet the needs of those we serve.
