Even though we stayed in Times Sq we had decided that the taxi fare would be worth it. We were not disappointed. I suppose it thinks of itself as "posh american" but the River Cafe is somewhere that you can enjoy a good meal, with a great variety of wine and very pleasant staff who, once you chip away at... Never been to a restaurant with such a fantastic location and the views of the Manhatten skyline left you speechless. We got some fab photo's. We had dinner there so had the nighttime views of all the lights. The staff were friendly and service great. The menu was quite limited but very good food. Maybe a littel expensive, but worth... Very old school, and we loved it that way. Views are spectacular. People should understand that looking from Manhattan is great but looking towards Manhattan is even better. Older crowd, a place for graduations, big celebrations, for parents to have formality and kids to have experience of how fine dining used to be (and that isn't a bad thing). Tried... More

My fiancée took me to a special dinner at River Cafe last weekend and it was a fantastic dining experience ever. There's the gorgeous views of the New York City's famous establishments across the river such as the the Peace Tower, The Empire State building, and of course the Brooklyn Bridge! If you ever go there don't forget to try... More

Went for lunch on Sunday 14th December. Everyone was extremely welcoming wished me happy birthday at every opportunity. The food and service was excellent. The brooklyn bridge desert was amazing. The views were great we were not at a window seat however this did not disappoint the views are all very good. Lunch has a set price of $55 which... More

You must go to this restaurant at least once, just for the view. It's one of the most beautiful in the city (looking across at the Manhattan Skyline and up at the columns of the Brooklyn Bridge). The food was good, but nothing exceptional. The serving staff was attentive but not overly friendly. When I asked if we could have... More

My wife and I had dinner here last Sunday evening during a 4 day break to NYC. I wanted to find somewhere special for us and overall the River Cafe didn't disappoint. The setting is amazing giving you great views of Manhattan but make sure you leave enough time to get there if you are staying in Midtown or Uptown... More

Beautiful surroundings, excellent service and food. Brooklyn bridge chocolate cake is a super way to top off a lovely meal. A meal worth lingering over.

We had hoped for a memorable evening in this something of an iconic restaurant. Unfortunately memories for all the wrong reasons have been formed. We booked four weeks prior from home in Spain, agreeing to the 4 day cancellation policy (which must be done by fax?!) Duly turning up In time, in our finest (again as requested) to be told... More

Went here for dinner whilst in ny with work. Far surpassed my expectations, probably the nicest meal I've ever had. We ordered the tasting menu and it was exquisite with wine to match every course. The views are stunning and the staff really know their stuff. Highly recommend!!
