It was a beautiful day so the view was truly outstanding at our water side table but the flowers, service and food were also extraordinary! It is one of the most romantic restaurants in NYC and they go out of their way to make you feel special (They brought us a wonderful Chocolate note saying Happy Anniversary!) Truly Wonderful!!

The River Café was an extra special dining experience for us. While it is well-known for spectacular views (and they truly are spectacular), I must say that the food was also top notch! (Excellent presentation, excellent portions and EXCELLENT in flavor.) I ordered lobster...so, so delicious. Our desserts were also very tasty. We couldn't have asked for better service; the... More

Our party of six visited this restaurant in the evening to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The best views of Manhattan are naturally from the tables by the windows. The inner tables are still very nice, but their views are limited by the awnings and at night by the glare from the lights inside. The food was very good, but not... More

...yes, being 530pm on a Thursday night, the chances of getting a table that night was slim-to-none. Tried to book online but booked out. Rang and after speaking with four different people (not really sure why) and a five minute wait - they got us in for 7pm. Yippee. My wife found this on OpenTable.com (which is a great site... More

I went there for the first time since Sandy for my 60th B-day. I was there the day I got married 30 years ago too. And for my 40th B-day. I live nearby. Always has been very good to excellent, but pretentious. In fact, 30 years the valet lost my car key (I walked home and got a spare) and... More

I booked this restaurant after reading so many good reviews so after an 8 hour flight from England we made our way here in the evening. Can I just say the actual venue is stunning with beautiful gardens and flowers, the reception was manned by 2 very friendly ladies who were surrounded by flowers and the actual restaurant was elegant... I can see why you need to book months ahead. This place is amazing. The view towards the Manhattan skyline at night has to be seen to be believed. We were given a banquette seat so we both had a constant view, over the entire restaurant, river and skyline. Service and attention to detail were impeccable. This is a fine... More

After years of hearing about the lovely experience of dining at The River Café, we finally made it. Worth the wait and worth the price. The restaurant is lovely - from the minute a person drives up until the minute you leave, it takes your breath away. Our dinners were wonderful, expensive as expected, so no surprise in that regard.... More

I planned to celebrate my wedding anniversary, with a surprise dinner for my wife, at this marvelous place. Some important tips: 1 - You have to wear at least a blazer; 2 - Book a table in advance. They will confirm it 2 days before, to be sure you're showing up; 3 - Choose a 4 course tasting menu -... More

The food is pretty good although that's not why anyone chooses this place. Come for the ambiance and view and you won't be disappointed. Don't forget to tell the concierge that you'd like a table by the window when you make your reservation.
