I do love my roast beef, and up until this point Mr.B's in the Adirondacks held my title for the best roast beef sandwich.. but I had no idea what amazing roast beef was until I had a "double dip", but we will get to that, let me start by telling you about the dining experience, When you walk in... To blend in here, ya gotta speak Brennan & Carr jargon so repeat these words to the server: "Cheese beef, rare, heavy dipped." Don't let the "rare" scare you, it's the redder roast beef that they'll choice-select for you and is definitely still cooked. What you've just ordered is the recommended roast beef with melted cheese on a bun that... More

If you ask a Brooklynite about roast beef sandwiches, Brennan & Carr is one of two go-to places! Good food, good value, good service.

I put "French dip" in quotes, because it is already smothered in au jus, so you don't really need to dip it in anything. The roast beef was tender and juicy and with the added au jus, it was mouth-watering delicious. Two things to be prepared for: plan to use lots of napkins, and bring cash because they don't take... The best roast beef platter or sandwich. If getting a sandwich, ask them to double dip. They dip it in the natural gravy from the meat 2 times. Makes the bread all squishy and yummy. Meat is thin sliced. Platters come with 2 sides. There are other items on the menu but they are best known for the rotisserie spun... More

If your looking for a cozy place to eat this is it. Sourounded by a a lot of wood. The menu is limited but if your looking for a great beef on a bun dipped in broth this is your place! Hamburgers are awesome! Apple pie and ice cream for dessert delish!

In Brooklyn some guys say "Aven-you U," others, "Aven-new U." What ever.... We all know the primo place for beef slow spit roasted then dipped in its own juice is right off Avenue U and Nostrand Avenue at Brennan and Carr. I've been going there since the late 60's. Taking grandchildren there is a possibility I avidly look forward to.... More

Stopped in while visiting home and I knew I had to stop in after seeing the restaurant on Man Vs. Food Travel show. The Roast Beef did not disappoint. I had to go back twice while I was home to get more of the good taste. Thank you guys for what you do
