All the great things people have said about this place, I agree with. Unfortunately, the (still young) owners have moved on to other adventures, and after some time serving the occasional "pop-up" evening, they closed for good in 2016. We'll miss them.

How much food can you taste in an evening? Don't come here without an appetite. The food is surprising, engaging, and unusual. And the courses are endless. Paired with wines, each course is a mini-meal. A dining experience. We had so much fun.

This was an eating extravaganza! We dined for hours. The various vegetable dishes were carefully prepared and each had a distinctive taste. The ingredients were fresh and top-notch. We were lucky enough to dine here with a wine/food pairing for a fixed price. Incredible value. We went with another couple and had a blast eating and drinking wines for 3... More

If I was rating this on food alone (taste, quality) it would get a 5.0. The food was some of the best I have had in the Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill/Boerum Hill area. Also the owner/chefs brought out the food personally and explained the plates, which was real nice. Small plates that were extremely tasty - especially the BBQ Portabella. The... More

If your main reason to attend a restaurant is good food, go to this place. The cooking is truly artisanal, the kitchen is so small that the chef cannot avoid being involved in everything. Service is excellent. The dining room is on the small side but one doesn't mind because it is soberly decorated and service is efficient and pleasant.... More

Our romantic night out venue was a recommendation from friends who've traveled broadly and settled in Brooklyn. We went the whole hog and chose the tasting menu with accompanying wines. Loved the food, especially the artichokes with toast. Appreciated the wine, even the ones that were outside my comfort zone and not really to my palette's immediate liking. Best of... More

Food is imaginative and ideal for sharing. We tried 8 menu items and they were all tasty. The indoor space is fairly small and tables are set close together. The excellent wait staff move around the confined space with surprising aplomb and we enjoyed excellent service from Phoebe. The restaurant allows parties of four like ours two and a half... More

The Grocery has been highly rated for years. And no wonder. The food is imaginative, innovative, flavorful and locally-sourced. The current approach -- small plates -- allows you to sample a broad range of delights. Definitely worth a visit.

Had a lovely evening at the grocery with a multi-course tasting menu paired with wines. The owners presented every dish and wine and are clearly passionate about their menu. From appetizers to dessert and port, the meal was relaxed and delicious. Highly recommended.

This is a hard one.. Sparsely decorated small cramped dining room, There are maybe 30 seats, and since they keep the curtains closed, no peering in from the outside world. It is quite literally like dining in someone's oddly undecorated apartment. Fine with me .Definitely harder to stand the waitress bus tub close to your table. Porcelain from Fish Eddies,thick...
