Great inventive combinations of flavors in each dish. Nice size portions, not too much or little. We were able to purchase a carafe of rose which is unusual, but for us the perfect size, and the price was reasonable. Attentive service. I would return.

The four of us ate there on a Sunday evening and it wasn't crowded. We started off with a cocktail and then ordered a few appetizers and some main course dishes. The east cost squid, spring rolls, and the pork shoulder were excellent. I wouldn't describe this as a Vietnamese restaurant although Vietnamese cuisine is probably its inspiration. In any... More

The cocktail menu was innovative and interesting, with ingredients I didn't recognize but enjoyed the taste. My beef pho was filling and tasty. The salad was fresh and a good contrast. Prices were reasonable for Brooklyn. The wait staff fawns a little too hard for my taste, but that could a generational thing. I would go back.

My family and I eat here on average about twice a month; and whereas we miss their old deal--half off on bottles of wine on Sundays--we return again and again, secure in the knowledge that the food will be very good and the service most friendly. The nosh is broadly defined as Vietnamese-fusion, with American Southern incursions predominating. The menu... More

We really enjoyed our casual dinner at Nightingale 9. The flavors were clean and bright, the preparation excellent. We especially liked the grilled seafood salad, spring rolls and hanger steak. Almost all the dishes are good for sharing. The service was very friendly. We will be back.

We had dinner here based on a blog recommendation.... Ummmm... Not impressed at all. The pho was mediocre at best; my pork was bland and actually greasy, and sat heavily in my stomach for many hours to come. I understand the stuffed squid was alright. Service was OK, but the place is small and terribly noisy. So you either have... More

Our expectations for this restaurant were high as a result of its profile in a recent Garden & Gun magazine as one of John T. Edge's Top Ten dishes of the year (Dec 2013/Jan 2014 issue). The food was pretty good, although the service was less impressive, and the overall experience was just mediocre. The fusion of southern comfort food... More

This is a new addition to the many restaurants that line Smith Street in the Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill area. I ate lunch there yesterday and was quite pleased. My waiter could not have been more helpful, explaining the menu to me. The food is Vietnamese, with Southern/American influences--definitely not run of the mill. I had a pork sandwich that was...
