Wonderful ambiance with friendly service in a busy place. The food happily reminded me of home with large plates of specialties. We left happy and full. Thanks!

We frequent this place often enough to know the food is great. Perfect for couples and a family. Outside seating available. Great service

I had the fish, calamari, fries dish and enjoyed my meal. The fish was seasoned nicely. I would recommend this location to anyone trying to grab some good food.

My friend and I came here for dinner on a weeknight. It was bustling, but there was still plenty of space for us inside. The Africa-themed decorations, pop art, candles, etc. lent the restaurant a hip and romantic vibe. Service was attentive, but not excessive. We shared a vetkoek (sourdough with beef/mango chutney - amazing!) and a chicken curry (tasty,... More

I came to dinner with a group of friends and had a great time! Initially, we had a reservation for 10 people. 3 people weren't able to make it, and another 3 were 30-45 minutes late. The host at the door was great, and assured me that there would be no problem, and that we were welcome to wait for... More

Very busy place, service could be better. Friendly host but too busy to have too much attention. Bobotie was tasty for 19USD. Good people, good night on the town. Music was great and people were rolling in! South African flavors in town. Overall, a worthwhile experience but no need to return for awhile. Very packed. Currently, the outdoor area is... More

I didn't have any of the African specialties, but I had a small fish plate and it was good What I loved most about this place was the decoration. The frames and pictures, color, even the bathroom was very ethnic and I loved that. The place divides into two sections, one with tables and chairs and the other one with... More

My boyfriend and I are black South Africans who were in New York on holiday. We decided to have brunch at the Madiba restaurant and it was average at best. The atmosphere and music is great but the food was alright and the service was appalling. We decided not to give our waitress a tip because she had an attitude... More

South African street food get in my belly! Great service, stunning, original flavours (like nothing I've ever tasted) and a nice selection of veg-friendly options. Madiba is a Brooklyn spot you won't want to miss. The Durban-style Veggie currie is something you don't want to miss. That kind of spice cocktail might just blow your mind...
