Expensive - but good size servings and yummy! Lots of flavors and types of ice cream (floats, sundaes, etc) to choose from.

What a cute little place this is! Hot Licks is a 20x20 ice cream shop off of College Rd that exudes an old-school vibe. Their homemade ice cream is 16% butterfat cream and their flavors contain natural ingredients. A variety of treats are available- cones and cups, sundaes, and shakes- so there is a little something for everyone. My husband... More

I've been coming here since I was a little girl and I'll keep coming as long as they are open. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for (it's delicious) and they give you a pretty good portion even for a single. They have great flavors too! I especially love the AK blueberry!

Ice cream for peak Fairbanks temperatures. My favorite flavor so far is Alaska Blueberry. Ginger was very mild for me. Rich, creamy, real ice cream that does fine on its own without cheapo candy mix-ins. (No, that franchise Coldstone does not serve real ice cream.) Prices are high, as anything that doesn't belong in your healthy diet, especially when raw... More

Hot Licks operates from a small store on College Rd near the University. They serve locally made ice cream, sherbets, milkshakes, and banana splits. You order from outside through a takeout window. The variety of flavors is huge and often features local berries. There are occasionally low-sugar varieties for those cautious about calories. Servings are generous enough that I often... More

This is a great little spot near Univ of A Fairbanks. Great choice of flavors. I had a choc chip coconut. Others loved the rum raisin. The kick was a coffee ice cream that tasted of expresso!! Near tried a coffee ice cream like that!

Yes, Hot Licks does have a special place in Fairbanks as our little towns best and only local ice cream maker/shop, but the prices will leave your wallet empty. Prices keep going up, so it's a "special treat" to get a $5.00 cone.

We got a single scoop waffle cone and a soft serve waffle cone. Both were tasty, but not $12 worth of tasty. Flavors were very limited.

I'm not usually a big fan of fruit flavored ice cream, but several people told us to get the blueberry so we did. It was heavenly. I also tried the pistachio flavor and loved the big chunks of pistachio. One scoop was plenty.

Best ice cream in Fairbanks. Go to where the locals go to get the best quality and choice in custom flavors. Alaska eats more ice cream per capita than other state in the union and Hot Licks is the best reason why! You won't be disappointed!
