We just arrived at the Courtyard around the corner and were hungry so we gave it a try. Awesome sandwiches which were filling, just what we needed before heading to Fenway. The guy behind the counter treated everyone like they were regulars.

Generous portions, reasonably priced, and very friendly deli. The thanksgiving feast is huge - even a half sandwich was essentially a full sandwich because there was so much meat! Manages not to be dry, will be returning!

Be aware this is a cash-only place! The line goes quickly because the staff are efficient - very friendly - greeting everyone, thanking everyone. Snag a table to wait for your order - sandwiches come with pickles but no chips fyi. Good place for a bite on a Saturday.

Thrilled to start trying the Jewish style delis in the Boston area. Fantastic chicken noodle soup, tuna salad is excellent, great knishes, and of course...what about the pastrami? The pastrami was very good, but even considering that I didn't order it lean, today it was quite fatty. That being said, great flavor, and this seems like a great find. Will... More

Visiting from out of town. Sandwiches for takeout. Tasty Italian sub but kind of light for the price. Corned beef and pastrami was very disappointing. Shavings of dry pastrami sliced way too thin. Corned beef slightly better. Rye bread falling apart after a three block trip. Not a very substantial meal. Would not order again and probably better options in... More

Annapolis123, Thanks for taking the time to post your review. I am truly sorry that we fell below your expectations and the ones set by other Tripadvisors. I am not sure what went wrong with your combo sandwich other than we cook and cut the meats in house and we clearly messed yours up. Looks like you are not local,... More

So you want a real Boston sandwich? Get in your 'cah' or get the Green line to Brookline. He's right there at Coolidge Corner. Order yourself a "Thortys Black and Gold" and start planning to enjoy the best sandwich of your life!! Black pastrami?! WOW Who knew!!

Garth, Thanks for dropping in and sharing your experience with other TripAdvisors. The Thorty Black and Gold is near and dear to me as $1 of every one sold goes to benefit the Shawn Thornton Foundation. SO keep stopping in for this great Sandwich! Hope to feed you again soon. Steven More

If you know what a NYC corned beef or pastrami sandwich ought to be, this is THE place around here. Beyond that, what can you say? Decor and ambience are basically nonexistent. If you hem and haw and don't know what you want, Michael can be rude. The total list of what is available is not long. You want corned... More

Christopher, Thanks for taking the time to let others know about us. I appreciate the comparison to NYC. For what it is worth, Michael has not been around for almost 5 years. If it was me that was rude I sincerely apologize and would love to talk with you - please email me directly at steven@michaelsdelibrookline.com. Thanks again, Steven More

Had a very good experience here. The turkey, corned beef, and chicken salad sandwiches were all you could ask for. Friendly neighborhood place, good service. Will be back
