Healthy food in the midst of scores of Southern fried food restaurants! Yay! I took a chance with letting the chef create 3 gluten free tacos for me, only asking that they don't use tofu. Yum! Tasty hummus and lots of fresh veggies! My husband's protein bowl was packed with beans, egg, avocado, spinach, seeds, etc. Coffee was hard to... More

Next to health food store, right on Forsyth Park. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Hipster type atmosphere. Wraps, salads, quesadillas, egg dishes. Many baked good offerings. Many vegan offerings. But also serves milk, cheese and egg dishes. Great coffee. Really interesting loose leaf tea offerings. Loved the ginger turmeric tea. Fun to sit outside across from park and people watch.

We came across this coffee shop and eatery by chance late one afternoon after touring Savannah extensively during the day, so needed something substantial to eat and drink. Plenty of variety on offer, and lots of different type of tea available. Definitely a 'studenty' atmosphere, but even as middle-aged Brits we were made to feel welcome and not out of... More

Four of us enjoyed brunch one Sunday morning in October. I picked the Mix and Match Plate with Rosemary Onion Polenta roasted cubes, eggs and the Kitchen Sink Salad. Very tasty! The cafe is located right on park and has a causal hipster vibe. You order at the counter and they serve your food order to your table. They give... More

I enjoyed a breakfast burrito although it was difficult to make a choice as so many things looked good. Hipster type atmosphere and very cool vibe. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Instead of just handing you a number, you get a trophy to place on the table, Also had a decaf coffee which... More

Great place to take a break from walking the squares and have a beverage. Two stops on different days. The macchiato was the real deal and not what you'd get at Starbucks. The espresso used here is mild and not as acidic as some I've had elsewhere. Thumbs up from my wife on the fresh brewed black tea and hazelnut... More

I felt VERY fortunate that our rental was located a block from this great little cafe. I stopped by for iced teas several times a day. We also had a few pleasant little meals. We met really interesting people while we sat outside either on the front sidewalk or in the nice patio in the back. The staff was very... More

The black bean breakfast burrito is great. It's my go too for sure. The cold brew is good too and consistent in strength. I go here often while in Savannah.

Stopped here every morning during my 4 day stay after walking around Forsyth Park for my morning coffee. Lots of choices, great service, and decent prices.

Since the Bean (as it’s known in the neighborhood) opened its doors in 2001, we’ve tried to make decisions that are good for our customers, our community, and our environment. Strangely enough, we also believe that this way of doing business is good for the bottom line. Our fair-trade coffee is organic, as is our produce and most of our staple ingredients. We are committed to using locally grown ingredients as much as possible, don’t fry anything, and make most of our food from scratch. We are vegetarian, and very vegan and gluten-free friendly! In 2008 we got rid of disposable plastic ware and we continue to recycle and compost. We host almost nightly events organized by members of the community and we strive to be welcoming to even the strangest among us. Check out our website for upcoming events.
