I think that we have been here every visit to Savannah. We chose outside dining because of COVID, but be forewarned that you sit next to the busy sidewalk outside. I would not advise on a weekend or busy time. People were walking by with...beverages so of course no masks. The restaurant is a favorite for shrimp and grits, although I chose scallops this time. Our server took good care of us and we were happy to sit and view the riverfront. All protocols at the restaurant seemed in place, and we will visit next time! UPDATE: We are back and our visit was disappointing. Our shrimp and grits were good so a plus for the food. Our waiter took our order and only after our dish arrived did we get our drinks and the water which we had requested. I ordered a white wine and a red Malbec was brought. Waiter said that’s what I asked for?!! When my dinner was almost done, I got my correct wine. The check came with a charge for both wines which we had to request them to correct. This was just a disappointment!More

This place is a total fraud. Cutting corners in the kitchen speaks volumes in this places food. The red beans and rice tasted like they were right out of the can. The catfish batter was not good. My kids had the kids chicken tenders that...tasted like anything but chicken. The service was terrible as our waitress went AWOL most of the time. My wife has the same exact opinion of this place. I am from New Orleans and this place has no connection what so ever. I would call our visit to Hueys a total Disater and gross.More

We were looking for a place to eat as we walked on River Street checking out the sites. Our service was quick and our server was really good. My wife's Salmon fish was awesome. My Jambalaya was fabulous. Both entrees were fresh, tasty and large...portions. Great surprise. Food was deliscious. ENJOY!More

Visiting Savannah and came here on Monday at 5pm. No wait and it didn't seem to be that busy. We sat and it took forever for our server to come and just bring our drinks, the server was also training someone, which I understand can...be a burden on some servers, but it just didn't seem to be a good example for what they should be doing. The server and her trainee came by our table every 20 minutes or longer. Drink's always empty, simple things we asked for like spoons and sauces were forgotten about. We got our food, red beans and rice, two shrimp plates and a steak. The steak was just fine but I've had better from Texas Roadhouse. The shrimp was pretty pathetic. Maybe a total of 10 small, breaded, obviously frozen shrimp. Some of the least authentic "cuisine" I've ever had. The sides were the only good part of the meal, awesome garlic parm grits. We decided to get some of the "world famous beignets" to go because we honestly didn't want to sit in the restaurant any longer. And it took another 20 minutes just to get them out. She refused to let us go ahead and pay for our food until they came out. So we then had to wait another 15 minutes for her to bring our check back. The "world famous beignets" were big, dry, hollow pieces of grease-tasting bread with a obscene amount of powdered sugar. The only thing they should be "world famous" for is how bad they are. Pretty rough experience for $115 before tip.More

This restaurant is understaffed, crowded, loud, has a long wait time for your meal, then check, and then it was only mediocre food. The first thing we were told was “sorry, we’re very understaffed today, as usual.” The host had no personality and the restroom...was dirty, broken seats, wet toilet paper, and no paper towels.More

One of the most enjoyable breakfasts we have had in some time. The diversity of tasty food options was more than we have had in some time. The hot beignets were as good as any we have had in New Orleans. In addition to the...food, we were very appreciative of the service we received. We had met a relative there who had two young boys. Hostess made sure we had a table that fit our needs including the proper height highchairs. Waiter seemed to always be there when needed. Wonderful option for the future.More

This was very disappointing. We had heard so many good things about this restaurant so much that we waited 75 minutes for a table. When we were seated there was a buzz with every table full. People were having fun and clearly enjoying their experience....We hadn't even ordered our drinks as we were looking over the menu when we were approached by the manager. We all thought she was going to welcome us or share that they might have been out of a special. Not even close, rather she said three tables complained about how loud we were and if we didn't keep it down we would be asked to leave. We were in a corner and not there long enough to be considered loud or quiet. It was clear she made it up as our waiter overtly agreed it wasn't even possible. It killed the experience. We were in town for two nights from Tampa and there are over 50 restaurants in Savannah and that was one of our chosen restaurants. It bothered us so much we approached her afterwards and she back tracked then abruptly ended the conversation saying she just got out of jail, give me a break. It was so unexplainable and completely unprofessional. For anyone wondering this is fresh as we were there Saturday evening August 27th I'm sharing this for the sole purpose this doesn't happen to anyone else.More

We started with one cup of cajun gumbo, once everyone tried mine; they ordered their own. The catfish fingers are delicious! Fried green tomatoes were really delicious. Ended the meal with beignets- AMAZING! Staff was friendly and courteous.

My wife & I ate breakfast here. Wonderful selection of mouth watering dishes to select from. My wife ordered grits & Andouille, which was served piping hot & tasted great. I had Chicken Pain Perdue; hand breaded chicken & exceptional French toast. I don't know...about dinner, but I highly recommend for breakfast.More

We joined the waiting list on the Yelp app 40 minutes before getting a notification that a table was ready. When we went to the desk to check in, the host told us THEY forgot to turn off the Yelp online waiting list option and...that we'd have to get on another waiting list. We were being punished because they didn't do their part and they refused to correct their mistake. This is a horrible business practice and a poor reflection on the restaurants management.More
