The sandwich I ate was good. The staff was nice enough. Food was decently priced. Could have used more food options.

As usual for a tourist center, the cost of the food was a little expensive. It was very tasty and was made in good time. We were there on a slow day but there was lots of staff to handle more people if needed. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

We decided to eat here before the star party since there is nothing anywhere close to here to eat. We ordered the chicken tacos and avocado tacos which both were very small. It did get us by though.

Thank you for eating with us. Our tacos are a bit small, street taco style. I'm glad they were enough to get you through the night. If anyone is looking for a heavier meal I would recommend our quesadillas or sandwiches. Thanks again. More

Better than average for a "museum cafe." They have a decent selection of food that's prepared quickly. We were really thankful that they had the cafe there and that it was open extended hours during the Twilight Program and Star Party because we hadn't eaten beforehand and there is literally nothing else out in that direction for MILES! And there's... More

We attended the Twilight program and Star party at the McDonald Observatory and your miles from anywhere else to eat so if your hungry the Star Date Cafe is it. That was our case and was quite pleased with the service and food. This place is so small though I would call it a snack bar instead of a Restaurant.

If your attending one of the night programs at the Nash Visitors Center this place comes on very handy. They have a nice selection of sandwiches, salads, snacks and drinks available for purchase. Prices are reasonable.

We decided to eat here before the Star Party rather than trying some place in town and we were all happy with our meals (chipotle chicken sandwiches and quesadillas). We weren't expecting anything spectacular...friendly service and clean eating area. If going to the observatory, I would eat here rather than in the town of Ft. Davis.

This cafe in McDonald Observatory looks like a little "microwave frozen food" cafe. I got the avocado tacos. 3 tiny tacos that seemed fresh & very tasty. Our group also got chicken tacos- 3 tiny tacos that were reported to be fresh & tasty, & a grilled cheese on ciabatta (the ciabatta seemed fresh). The windows look out on a... More

When at the Visitors Center you will be missing out if you don't try something on the menu of this fabulous little eatery. Surprisingly big menu to choose from. Very friendly folks doing a great job.

We had gone to a star party, and had a quick dinner here. We had quesadillas, tacos, and a Reuben sandwich. All of the food was fresh, and the shredded red cabbage instead of lettuce was very nice. It was a very nice surprise. The prices were good, even for being so far out.
