We never heard of that place, until a friend from California told us it’s a must-have-experience when in Astoria. It’s not a restaurant, but a small converted boat across Hwy 20 from the Maritime Museum, selling ONLY beer-battered fish’n chips at a walk-up window –...More

We got the "whole" meal here which was a basket of 5 pieces of fish with the fries. That cost $11, drinks separate. The smaller meal is 3 pieces of fish with fries and it is $9. The line was ALWAYS long, so be prepared...More

We were looking for lunch for our first afternoon in Astoria and found Bowpicker. The line was down the sidewalk at 3pm. Each time we passed Bowpicker during our stay, there was an even LONGER line. Yummy fish and chips. Cash only!

FRESH fish with delicate crisp coating together with steak cut fries served hot from the fryer. You must wait in line and there is no seating, but it is worth these annoyances. Cash only

It's a quirky little boat eatery you can order take away. The fish & chips are outstanding using tuna instead of white fish. So it's different from the beginning. The dish itself was very tasty and rich flavored. It took a while to wait in...More

Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to eat here but the lines to get albacore tuna fish & chips spoke volumes on how delicious the food must have been! Lines started at 11 AM when Bowpicker opened and were still going strong when we left...More

Read about this place before visiting. Since it was 11:30 and we were already hunger and read that sometimes the food sells out, we ventured to find it. Based on the picture, I expected the "restaurant" to be near a pier/dock. It was one block...More

Fish & chips are so good the the line forms at 10:30 ish for an 11:00 AM start. Each order of fish is prepared after you order. Conversations in the line are fun. "Local Landmark".

The lines are long but this is worth the wait! Best fish (tuna) & chips we've ever had! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and NOT greesy! The only thing they need is more tables for seating; they have one picnic table by...More

Lots if quirky places in Astoria. Go to the place by maritime museum, it is an actual boat on land. Serves albacore tuna fish n chips, long lines at times. Ship inn has great food too.
