Went one time and got sick. Awful food, worse service. No wonder they closed. Revel is a great improvement. Finally

"The Crown" closed in 2013 and has been replaced by Curtis and Esin deCarion's "Revel" which is very different than "Esin."
15 years ago when the Crown first opened it was excellent - great Landlord, good beers, and great 'British' food. It was definitely 5 Star, now I struggle to give it 2 Stars. The food in now average (just), and the place is dingy and...More
The food is OK. Fish Chips are not bad, hot and not overly battered. The rest of the food is pretty much standard pub food. Hamburgers, sandwiches, mushy peas. Beer selection is decent and the place can be pretty busy in the evenings. Negative: It...More
I used to come more often, when I had a colleague who was infatuated with the place. But to be honest, you either love the kind of food at this place or you couldn't really care to spend a dime in it because there is...More

I have been to Crown a few times for both food and drink. I didn't really want to go here yesterday but we had a new puppy and they allow you to sit outside with dogs which was nice. The food was actually a lot...More
Both of us got really sick after eating their fish and chips. Maybe old tartar sauce? Won't be going back-too bad use to love this place. Beer is still good, just don't eat anything!
Don't seem to frequent the place too much. Good atmosphere, good beer selection. Food seems slightly pricey.
