We visited here at the end of July, 2017 for lunch and had the most flavorful open roast beef sandwich I have ever tasted. The beef and gravy were mouthwatering, the potatoes homemade, and the corn was the freshest ever!!!! If you visit Gettysburg this...More

We thoroughly enjoyed the game pie which was bursting with turkey, duck, and pheasant all covered with a delicate crust. We also had pumpkin fritters and sweet potato pudding. The staff was very pleasant and attentive.

Stopped in for lunch with family. I had meatloaf and wife had soup of day and salad. Food was pretty good but not the best in Gettysburg. The house is really cool and provides a nice setting. The waitress was very nice however I think...More

Stopped in on a Tuesday evening, got right in without reservations. We ordered our food and drinks together. Waitress brought our food promptly but completely forgot our drink orders. Was apologetic about it, though. Food was good, interesting menu included several historic selections, which we...More

We found this restaurant based on reviews from you, the Tripadvisors. Farnsworth House is named in the memory of Elon John Farnsworth, who was a Brigadier General of volunteers by Pleasonton. He and his men were killed after a charge ordered by Brig. General Kilpatrick....More

The menu was limited in the main dining room, if I would have known that I would have eaten in the tavern. However that being said the food was good and the staff was very friendly. The prices were not bad about 30/35 per person....More

Came to Gettysburg overnight to celebrate my Mom's 70th birthday. Decided on Farnsworth for our dinner plans. Very unique menu, with a historic flare. My mother had the crab cakes, which she said was amazing, and I had the game pie. Pumpkin fritters were very...More

At the back of the Farnsworth Inn is a little tavern called Sweeny's and it is wonderful. The staff is dressed in colonial area costumes and you are surrounded by civil war items and displays. The food was very good and some interesting choices like...More

Thank you for the kind review! Visit us in Sweney's Tavern the next time you are in Gettysburg!

This was a very enjoyable restaurant for dinner. It is historic, being that it was in the center of the action during the Battle of Gettysburg. The steak was delicious as were the pumpkin fritters. They offer kids meals as well.
