This an intimate classy restaurant. The food is outstanding. The staff are amazing and engaged. It is obvious these owners are proud of what they produce and of their staff. We were privileged to try just about everything on the menu and I was blown...away. And it is VEGAN! Went to V street for lunch. Yummy vegetarian meal. Had the Cheesesteak and Peruvian fries. Delish!! Very satisfying meal and you don’t miss the meat. Fries had a bit a spice that was unique. Would return again.
If you want an unforgettable meal that will set your tastebuds on fire, please make your way to V Street. Coming here with my Dad nearly 3 years later after receiving a gift card, you could say we were eager to feast. We each decided...to do the Prix Fixe Menu (Great deal - 3 courses/nice portions, and a complimentary dessert for $35). We shared all of our plates - Yucatán Salad, Hot Pot of Market Greens, Peruvian Potatoes, Trinidad Doubles, Spicy Dan Dan Noodles, and the KFT Tacos. 6 courses for 2 people, you may ask?! Yes, we are professionals. The Yucatán salad was dressed with a green goddess dressing that I was scraping off of the plate because it was THAT good. The Hot Pot of Market Greens included vegetables submerged in a pot of pho broth that was seasoned with cinnamon and star anise, very warming on a chilly day. The Peruvian potatoes...let the photos speak for themselves, Crisp, that yellow aioli-like sauce was outstanding, the peanuts and dried olives (first time having) made it a well-rounded bite. The Trinidad Doubles was great especially if you like Indian food and the taste of cumin. And finally, the ENTREES. The Spicy Dan Dan Noodles would put any Ramen to shame. It definitely had a kick, but the spice doesn’t overpower the dish. The star of the show were the mushrooms and that sauce. And the KFT tacos...leave Taco Bell in the past and come to V Street. The fried tempeh would put any fried fish to shame, topped with the radish kimchi which I didn’t expect to like as much as I did. It was the perfect compliment. Now at this point I was starting to see Stars because of the food coma I was in, but it would be a sin to not eat the complimentary dessert of a mini cannoli Sunday - pistachio ice cream, bitter chocolate, candied orange peel, and chocolate. Do I sound like I work for Food Network yet? I have my resume for future reference. To top off our experience, our waiter Harry was knowledgeable, personable, and became a fast friend. As a waitress myself, I am overjoyed when I meet someone else who is as passionate about serving others and of course, THE FOOD! Highly recommend to all those, both meat lovers and vegetarians, who want to buckle up and go for a culinary joyride to V Street.More
My husband and I went for brunch. While I love savory and spicy foods for breakfast, he was disappointed to see only one breakfast-type food on the menu - waffles. He wasn’t a fan of the ponzu, but loved the sesame butter. I ordered the...KFT tacos and we shared the okonomiyaki fries as a starter. The tacos were spicy, but the flavor wasn’t overpowering as they’d topped it off with kimchi, and the tempeh was filling and delicious.The accompanying salad was fresh and tasty as well. The okonomiyaki fries were great (although not a hit with my sweets-loving hubby). The flavor was similar to sushi; although it was too much food to eat together with the tacos, so I ended up boxing them to take home. The atmosphere was casual - good for dates or drinks with friends. It was easy to make a reservation online, and not too loud within the space itself. All in all, an excellent experience - although more suited to lunch/dinner than brunch.More
What a find! Don’t normally try vegan restaurants but decided to go less meat in 2020. Was not familiar with selections on menu but though must go for the cheesesteak since in Philadelphia. It was outstanding! The pickles were some of the best we’ve had....Strongly suggest meat lovers give this place a try!More
Had lunch here with 5 people and between us we had 3 different menu items-the salad, wrap and the tempeh sandwich. All were outstanding but we agreed the tempeh was the best! The kombucha was great too! Reasonable, friendly staff and great food. We will...return.More
A Destiination restaurant for plant-based Whole Foods dining! Took the whole family there (two adults, two teenagers) and we pretty much ordered the entire menu. Nothing was less than excellent! The Singapore noodles were a big hit, KFT tacos we’re so good that we ordered...two. Even dessert was exceptional. If you’re a plant-based diner, this is a restaurant you must visit!More
Excellent food, cozy atmosphere. I had the KFT Tacos and my daughter had the Spicy Dan Dan Noodles- both were delicious. Also had an excellent cider with my dinner.
Nice size and not to loud. All of us really enjoyed the food. We made it a point to all get something different and then share. We couldn’t agree on what was the best. All outstanding!!
Was sure to grab a reservation for our group of four for a Thursday night. The place was lively and we were seated back by the kitchen - which sounds bad but was actually very fun seeing the cooks and staff preparing the plates. We...were hungry and everything looked so good - so we ordered one of everything (well, except the Trinidad Doubles and the KFT Tacos). By the end, we were stuffed, satisfied, smiling.
