I loved this bar; we came as a group for a late lunch on our way to Independence Hall and were not disappointed. Classic old wooden pub decor and a great feel. There are both individual tables (mostly bar height), and long Biergarten style tables...More

Cozy bar full of people and high noise levels, but a must see if you are in the neighborhood. The food tasted great, we ordered the cheesesteak in a bun and meatloaf with mashed potato. It all tasted very good. Good selection of beer. We...More

My wife and I wanted to watch the Raven's play while we were in town, and McGillin's was close to our hotel. We weren't the only Raven's fans, but we heard more cheers for the Steelers. Oh well, you can't have everything! The place was...More

We were staying across the street from this place and chose to hit it our last night in town. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, that was a Sunday night after the Eagles had won. The place was PACKED. Still found...More

On a visit to Philadelphia decided to have a Philly Cheesesteak in this historical pub. The atmosphere was lively in really interesting surroundings. The Staff were friendly and engaging. But the best part is the cheesesteak was outstanding. Lean tender beef in a soft bun...More

I love a good Irish pub with history, friendly bartenders and a chatty crowd. This one has the history which is what really makes it a must-see in Philly. We went on a weeknight and I wasn’t bothered by the noise. What did bother me?...More

Stopped here on a recent trip to the city for drinks. Very loud inside, but hey, it’s an Irish bar. Great drinks and cool ambiance. Surprisingly they ID everyone as they walk in. Must stop on your visit just for the history.
