This restaurant is in a lovingly renovated firehouse - pole and all. It is across the road from the Eastern State Penitentiary (Which I highly recommend visiting.) so, it is a great place to stop for a meal or drink before or after your prison tour. After we ordered, we were surprised by a plate of warm corn muffins and... More

Have never been disappointed when visiting this Philadelphia institution. Service is always accommodating and the food quality and offerings are excellent. Been here dozens of times and never a bad time. Recommend to anyone visiting Philly.

I am a southern and did not expect to find good Southern food in Philadelphia, but did here. The pulled pork sandwich was good as was the complimentary biscuit and cherries.

Stopped in to Jack's for a late lunch. The food and the service were excellent. I had the shrimp bisque which was served piping hot and the catfish sandwich. Both were superb. The atmosphere itself is also great. It really is an old firehouse. Love it!

The food was excellent. The staff was courteous, friendly and quick. The old fire house location is great! And they're right across the street from Eastern State Penetentiary. We were there for Sunday lunch. Good selection. My wife enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich. I had a very good Philly cheese steak. The bloody Mary was awesome.

Took a chance and tried Jack's last night. We were pleasantly surprised at the lively pub atmosphere. The food was excellent, including a few dishes that were somewhat different such as venison and salmon incrusted in potato. We tried the black eyed pea and ham soup and loved it. The service could not have been better.

I have loved Jack's Firehouse for YEARS. The food is wonderful and unusual. The decor is an old converted firehouse...very casual. You can eat inside or (when the weather gets nice) outside as well. This is one of those places you visit, fall in love with it, and go back again and again. Very laid back with a menu of... More

Jack's Firehouse is located in an old firehouse, adding to its charm. It's across the street from the Eastern State Penitentiary. We happen to be in Philly during Restaurant Week, but by 9 PM we found a seat easily. My husband and I split the pulled pork on nachos appitizer, good portion. I ordered the crab cakes with chow chow,... More

Good people, beautiful historical place and decent American food. At the end an excellent dessert and a 15 bourbon. Everything was perfect.
