We were going to pass up this restaurant until the gallery across the street mentioned that this is not your standard pub menu. They were right and we were glad we went. Great selection of beer on tap. A few solid wines by the glass. But the menu was a pleasant surprise: Smoked mussel soup, beet pastrami sandwich (all veggies)... More

This place has retained the character of the original Northern Liberties neighborhood (pre-gentrification, which sandblasted the edges off everything.) Great beers, excellent food. I always have to challenge myself to try new things because the old stand-bys like scrumptious burgers and duck salad are so very good. Great place.

I am so glad I don't live near Standard Tap because I would end up larger in size and smaller in wallet. I would be in every day choosing from their excellent selection of draft beers and eating off the ever-updated chalkboard menu. ST is as close to a Milwaukee-neighborhood bar that Philly has: dark woods, welcoming atmosphere, and wonderful... More

I guess you would call this a Gastropub. Old building with several levels and bars. Much bigger from the inside than the outside. If you come on a Saturday or Sunday, they're going to have brunch instead of lunch. You could still order off the menu for other dishes. Not too much to offer those who are vegetarian. They do... I had been trying to get to Standard Tap for a couple of years. My extended family of 8 went on a Wednesday night. We made reservations in advance. They were ready for us right on time. Wednesday seems like a great time to stop in to avoid any crowds. The menu is always changing here and is listed on... More

The choices of beers there is great and they have unique appetizers like spicy pumpkin empanadas (yum!). It would be nice to see classic pub grub, like nachos, on the menu, but it's a different and better bar.

We just dropped in for an early dinner on the rec of a friend. It didn't look like much from the outside, but we liked the little touches--the taps on the door and all the wood in the rooms, making for a pub-like feel. Table and seating were simple, plain. Menus on chalk-boards. My friend had a hamburger that she... More

Stopped in for a few beers before a wedding down the street, The server was very attentive for an excited group of wedding goers and willing to help chose a beer for those overwhelmed by the great draft list.

Standard Tap used to be a favorite with great salads and sandwiches which included to-die-for pulled pork, wild boar, portabella mushrooms and, on occasion, even roast lamb. On this trip, sandwiches included hamburger, meat balls, cheddar cheese, and muffaletta. We should have known right then to just have a beer and move on. The guy next to us had a... More
