Cramped space but outstanding mussels and beer. Just order 3-4 pots of mussels and keep ordering different ones. This is a great pace if you like mussels and beer. Service a tad slow but that is because it is so jammed with people

So one of the best beer bars on the East Coast IMO. Huge bottle and draft selection and you might even be able to snag a bottle of Cantillon if you're lucky. Great food as well. Known for their burgers and mussels. Get the Ghent...More

Having just traveled to Belgium this past summer, I was excited when my cousin told me about this place during my visit to Philadelphia. There are two bars in the restaurant, but be warned that even on a Sunday night they were both fairly crowded....More

This was a bit of a cab ride for me, but wanted to try their beer selection. Restaraunt Upon pulling up it looks unassuming and perhaps a bit of a dive. Inside the place was long and narrow, but had quite a few customers, with...More

Monk’s is one of my all-time favorite eateries. Excellent value, great ambiance and the food and drinks are absolutely epic. You will not find better moules et frites anywhere outside Belgium. The hearty steaming bowls of mussels and perfectly cooked frites are reasons enough to...More

I dropped in on a Friday afternoon before dinner and the place was already packed. I stood until a spot opened up at the front bar. Really nice craft beer list. I was shocked to find Russian River - Pliny the Elder on their menu....More

Monk's has a great beer list and good food. The atmosphere is more alternative. It can be noisy and a bit overwhelming but that comes with the territory of a cool bar in Philly. If you love beer, make sure you don't miss this place.

Monk’s Cafe is intensely noisy, and you might think that’s a good thing. It’s buzzing, but it means it means if your English is imperfect, if your grasp of America slang is uncertain, you may be put to a loss. It happened late Sat. afternoon...More

I was here with a group of people after training to relax. The waiter was friendly and was knowledgeable about all the beers they had on tab and in bottles. We were there for an hour and had appetizers & beers. The beer selection was...More
