I dined here last night with a co worker. The restaurant has little ambiance. One side is a bbq dining tables and the other is the regular table serviced dining room. We had sushi. It was very fresh and they had a large selection of rolls. One if the rolls I ordered was not made properly and they kindly made... More

Tiny place at corner near my home. Heard talk of good sushi & stopped by. It was excellent, fresh & so tasty. Stepped off my California roll comfort zone to try Seafood Udon. Not disappointed. Nice folks & reasonable prices. Plus the 48 stops right outside!

Loved going here for Sushi night when I lived in the area. I'd prefer this little spot off the main road over any of the other main-stream sushi places in Philly. The owner drives up to New York to pick out his fish and it's well worth it!

The outside of the restaurant is off-putting but don't be deceived. Inside it is pleasant, the service is very good and so is the food. The lunch was very good value for money. I would certainly go back again.

What a nice place so close to the Art museum. We all found our meal to be very tasty. Don't let the exterior put you off.

Dasiwa was a find while looking for good sushi in the Eastern State area. We were not disappointed. The dining room is small and busy, but well worth any wait. The waitress was excellent and all 5 of our sushi rolls were delicious. Mochi was also great. We will be telling everyone we can about Dasiwa and be bringing friends... More

Last Saturday we went to some exhibits at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and then headed off for lunch at a restaurant nearby that we wanted to try. Unfortunately, in anticipation of the Pope's visit, they closed for two weeks. After walking around for a while, we found ourselves in front of Dasiwa and decided to give it a try.... More

The outside was a little daunting, but the interior was comfortable and well decorated. The server was incredibly nice and chatty, and attentive to our needs. We had the shrimp shumai and fried chicken gyoza which were both great but the sauce is the huge highlight -- smoky, savory, slightly sweet, just wonderful. Unlike any I've had before. I wasn't... We went here for a late lunch, after visiting the art museum. It has an interesting ambience. It's a coffee shop/sushi restaurant. This is not a date night restaurant, but it was a good place to get lunch. I ordered the sake roll and the wildfire roll. I really enjoy the wildfire roll. My husband ordered the udon noodle soup... I've been coming to Dasiwa for nearly four years now - my roommates and I are Friday night regulars - and there's a reason we keep coming back for more. Lots of reasons, actually - fantastic service, low-key atmosphere, great menu (fresh ingredients and fresh ideas), and the best loaded gyoza I've ever had. I think I've brought nearly every... More
