We found Mica's preparation of dishes that my husband and I thought we knew by heart -- like the baby stuffed grape leaves amuse bouche and the grilled eggplant with bonito appetizer -- so fresh and subtly intriguing that we cannot wait to find an excuse to return to Chestnut Hill. The service was cordial and prompt, and the chef... More

We decided to try Mica again, now that it was under new ownership. What a treat!! We went last Wednesday, when it was very quiet. The food was fabulous and we brought some very special red and white French wines, which allowed us to try either fish or red meat. We will definitely be back, especially during the week when... Chef Yanni has done a marvelous job transforming Mica into a top of the line BYOB. The snacks, apps and entrees were all perfectly prepared and delicious. We went with 3 other couples and everyone loved their food. The atmosphere made for a truly great night out. And the BYOB allowed us to enjoy great wine, great food with great... More

Mica has recently been bought by Yianni Arhontoulis, previously the chef de cuisine at Blackfish. It is now a byob which warrants deep exploration of your wine cellars. My friend Ron and I both enjoyed the 6 course price fix ($69) while our wives went ala carte. To start we received an amuse bouche of a stuffed grape leaf. Tasty.... More

Dined at the new Mica last night. Chef Yanni has a winner on his hands. The tuna carpaccio and crab dumplings were wonderful. For dinner we enjoyed the chicken and lamb. Both were lovely. The new Mica is a little more price friendly and a byob... Highly recommend...

This is a nice small place, simple decor, right on Germantown Ave. We shared a first course, middle and an entree. Each dish came with new plates and table service. Kale and Brussels sprouts salad and the gnocchi were wonderful. Our flourless chocolate desert was taking a little long and they brought out a lemon panne cotta at no charge... More

Didn't this style of dining go out last century? The size of the portions, especially when contrasted with the size of the plates (not to mention the prices!!) was laughable. The food was okay, but really nothing special, especially, again, for the price. The bread was served cold, which is just not elegant. The gnocci reminded me of frozen tater... More

We are fortunate to live in this amazing part of Philadelphia. Mica is a weekly stop for us. They offer 5-star quality food for mid-range prices. During the week they offer a 3/4-course meal for $45. Brunch on Sunday is an incredible bargain, running $10-15 pp. I'm an avid fan of the crudo appetizer which changes every few weeks. My... More

We ate here on a Saturday (Feb. 6). This was our first experience eating dinner out in Chestnut Hill (since it is kind of far from our neighborhood), but we are so glad we made the trip out here! Mica is a very cozy, pretty restaurant on a quaint, shop-filled street in historic Chestnut Hill. Next time, we'd like to... More

Fine dining isn't really my thing, generally I enjoy going somewhere moderately priced and enjoying whatever they have. Decided to do the whole fine dining thing at Mica and was not disappointed. I want to preface this by saying Jaime, the GM/sommelier is amazing, we decided to put put our faith in him, closed the menus and told him to... More
