Great attentive service, great food, lots of choices (although could use more than one green salad option). I recommend the lasagne, not what you'd expect: very thin yet filling, artful, delicious. Other pasta dish I tried was just perfect as well. Service couldn't have been...More

I am not a vegetarian but I don't eat beef or pork. I was surprised to find that there was not much on the menu I could order. Amis did not have a marinara sauce dish. I finally settled on pasta and swordfish with eggplant...More

There are a few seemingly interesting pre-entree items on the menu: e.g., swordfish meatballs and sweetbreads. Unfortunately, both those appetizers were served overcooked. My entree and a couple of shared items from others at the table were also overcooked. If asked, I would have said...More

We were a group of 4 and had decided we wanted to go to a small plates restaurant in order to share different things and keep the costs down. We had been to a bunch of other small plates restaurants in the city including several...More

I was in town for a week and so happy that we found this spot. My family and I ordered many small plates and split everything. We had the meatballs, mortadella, tar tar and ricotta cheese spread. Everything was delicious. For entrees we all ordered...More

We had a great meal here. Meatballs, mortadella with honey, beef tartare, amazing and all pastas made fresh. The hangar steak was GREAT!! Philly LOVES salt, so ask to go light on the salt if you're not into it.

This is not your standard chicken parm and pasta joint that you'd find all over Philadelphia. Amis is offering an amazing assortment of Italian dishes that have been taken to the next level. The highlights of the meal were the Roman Tripe Stew, which had...More

SO Good! We had one of the better meals of our lives tonight! The rabbit antipasti was absolutely amazing! We also had the fresh mozza, sweet bread, mortadella moose, strip steak, lamb ragu, and jalapeño pasta. We finished it off with the Belgium waffle, Nutella,...More

Went to Amis for dinner with a friend. As we walked in the door we were immediately welcomed. Sat at the bar and had a drink. The bartenders were extremely kind and friendly. Our dinner was amazing from the appetizer to the desert. I had...More

Amis brings the quintessential Roman-style trattoria to Philadelphia's Center City neighborhood. Opened in 2010 by Vetri Family partners Jeff Benjamin and Chefs Marc Vetri, Brad Spence and Jeff Michaud, Amis has cemented its place as one of the city's premier dining destinations, garnering high praise from such publications as the Philadelphia Inquirer (three-out-of-four-bells) and Bon Appetit magazine ("Top 10 Places for Pasta in the U.S."), and from the crowds of regular guests who pack its dining room nightly for dinner and weekends for brunch. Lively, comfortable and convivial, dining at Amis is perfect for a variety of occasions, boasting a share-plates menu of house-made pasta, salumi, farm-fresh meats and peak seasonal vegetable dishes, perfect for sharing while celebrating with friends and family, or a meal out with someone special. Be sure to ask about our "Beast of Amis" menu too. These special dishes feature whole animals-birds, hogs, fish and even full sides of beef.
