This is the real deal gelato. The flavors were so intense, it was amazing. I had blood orange sorbet and salted caramel gelato

As many other reviewers noted, this place is on the pricey side. But in my opinion, it is totally worth it. This isn't a place you'll be going to every night after dinner, but you should treat yourself if you are in the area. The portions are small, as are the spoons. We joked that they don't give you full... More

I will admit that I am something of a gelato addict. My husband kindly calls me a connoisseur. Capogiro gets my vote for best gelato outside if Italy (the pistachio even reminds me of the fresh pistachios in Sicily) and beats many Italian favorites. I'm still dreaming of its perfect texture and fully developed Flavors.

We just wanted to try a different place than the usual. They had a lot of different flavors and they did sample them. I had 4 scoops which isn't as big as you would imagine. I got 4 different flavors and they were all good, but the Pistachio was just okay. It doesn't taste like what I'm used to. For... More

We first found Capogiro Gelato when we went online to find is Honeysuckle ice cream existed. That's right! Capogiro creates new and different flavors everyday which they allow you to sample until you find the flavors that are just right!.... or, the flavors that are just right today because you have decided that yes, you are coming back again tomorrow... They had a lot of nontraditional flavors along with some of the regular flavors. Really good, creamy ice cream. We went at 10pm and had to wait in line for about 5 minutes. It was ok because we need time to make up our minds! The cost for 3 smalls is about $17. It's nice for a treat.

Great place for dessert, love their Pistachio flavor, best part is that you don't even feel overstuffed after eating one of their cones after having dinner at a local restaurant. Helpful, courteous staff.

Located in the University City section of Phila. you would be hard-pressed to find better homemade gelato anywhere with a nice sandwich menu to boot. They offer a nice variety of flavors that you may not see elsewhere and are more than happy to provide you a sample tasting. They offer seating inside and out and it was fairly clean...... More

Background: As we try Gelato when ever we get the chance, be that in Barcelona, Florence, Milan, Rome, Venice or the USA, we jumped at the chance to try Capogiro Gelato in University City, Philadelphia. Three Visits Verdict: Though the flavors we choose were perhaps a bit sweet, the lemon lime (?) gelato was mega dose refreshing. The Americano coffees... More
