Stopped in for drinks and appetizers. There is an obscure entrance which took us a while to find but that just added to the cool factor of this place. When you enter its like you are going into a secret club and the place is full of nostalgia. Had the best holiday/ eggnog cocktail I have ever tasted! Truffle fries... More

I would like to give the Bookstore a 3.5 star rating. We have dined here twice, both experiences similar. Love the atmosphere of this restaurant. Very dark & hidden. You would never know it was there if you weren't looking for it. Our first time was on a weekend, with live music. It was very loud & busy but still... More

So heard this was the place to go. Drove over an hour to get there. Cool concept. The reality for us was this. Hard to find the entrance. It's a black door that leads to a basement. Great friendly staff. Moody ambiance, huge bar. Concern? You're in a basement. There are kerosene lights (lots of fumes) and candles everywhere...and a... More

We had late night reservations for drinks (11:30 pm) so we didn't have a chance to try food. The cocktails were great, very unique choices. There was a small band playing jazz which was great, the place was packed and it was a great vibe. Table lit by candles, authentic '20;s feel. Very intimate place..although a little noisy with the... The food &drinks are FABULOUS! We had pickles, clams to start. Both recommended! I got whiskey bartenders pick and they were both excellent! I had the pasta of the day (small plate not so small!) and my husband had the blackened salmon which was excellent! Wrote also had some French pressed decaf coffee and a cheesecake creme brulee! Awesome as... More

The menu is limited (not what you find online), the place is dark and noisy, and the place is overpriced! $9 for a bottled beer, $29 for a chicken breast ($2 more than for short ribs and $1 less than a 10 oz. pork chop), and $25 for a small plate of overcooked paparadelle pasta that was bland (cooked without... My spouse and I had dined here on a recent Friday night, and we had made reservations prior to ensure a table. I would recommend reservations, but if you're going with a small group (2-4) I honestly don't think it's necessary. There is a bar that you can easily sit or stand by for drinks and a light bite. The... More

My first visit, coming on a Friday night at 9:00pm. After reading so many positive reviews, I really wanted to like this place a lot. However, my first impression walking in the door was the smell of kerosene from the numerous lanterns on the tables. I am sensitive to smells, and unfortunately I found this to be slightly nauseating. While... More

My friend and I were in town for a half marathon a few weeks ago and we stumbled upon this gem. We took an uber to the address and when we arrived we couldn't find the entrance since it is not well marked. There is a door with a little flap and that is it.Upon opening the door we were... More
