We love eating at Jays Seafood Restaurant. It's located in the Origon District of Dayton, Ohio. Located in a historic gristle mill. Huge bar that's also of historical significance. It's a very good place for groups. Friendly service and good parking behind the restaurant. Reasonable...More

Jay’s Seafood Restaurant provided an excellent menu with outstanding results. The swordfish was exquisite. The atmosphere of the building itself added to the whole dining experience. Jay’s is a highly recommended restaurant to either enjoy lunch or dinner.

First ate here a year ago, the place was packed with people and the food was good - something that was hard to find in Dayton, IMHO. The old brick interior with the massive bar with beveled glass gives you an instant glimpse into generations...More

Based on past experiences I was looking forward to a fun relaxing dinner with another couple. It was not pleasant. Starting with the parking, you have to pay in advance or get towed. There was not adequate signage, so I only heard about it after...More

My wife and I tried Jays again, thought we would give them another chance. My wife had their walleye and I had scallops. The walleye was dry and the scallops were tough with no sweetness. The service was ok but the food took forever to...More

Had an ok dinner. Did not get any seafood, but the steak was good, salad average. Great key lime pie. Parking situation is ridiculous. Very few spots and now they have a company that helps them charge for parking. Don't get caught without paying for...More

Jay's Seafood Restaurant has been family owned and operated for 41 years. Specializing in fresh seafood, steaks and fine wine at reasonable prices. Our story is rich in history. During the period ranging into the late 1800's, Dayton was one of the leading areas in the nation for flour milling. One of these mills, located on the Miami Erie Canal, was known as the Joseph Kratochwill Dayton Corn and Grist Mill. This building was constructed in the 1850's. Ladies and Gentlemen, tonight you are dining in the former Dayton Corn and Grist Mill.. In 1882, James Jacob Ritty opened the Pony House Restaurant. He commissioned wood carvers from Barney and Smith Car Works to turn 5,400 pounds of Honduras Mahogany into a bar. The fruit of their labors is the bar you now see standing in Jay's. Join us seven nights a week for a great dining experience
