We were hungry after a day travelling and just wanted a quick bite. We weren't expecting much from a burger joint, but wow were we pleasantly surprised. Tasty food delivered quickly. Top marks!

Stayed in the hotel across the street and decided to check it out. The wait in line was approx. 20 minutes but once I got my ordered I forgot all about the wait. The food burgers and dogs were great! Everyone was pleased. Unfortunately, I didn't get a shake but heard they are really good. The service wasn't bad either.

I took my two daughters here after a long day in NYC. We used the app to order ahead and it was a great experience. We literally showed up at the time the order was expected to be finished and asked if my named order (vs waiting in line for a buzzer) was ready...sure enough it was. About 10 people... More

Shack Shack may seem like your typical fast food joint, but it's so much more delicious than anything you can get from say, McDonald's or KFC. The burgers and fries are a little on the expensive side, but really filling and satisfying, so it's worth paying more. Everything I ordered was tasty, from the mushroom burger, to the fries, and... The place offers good value for money burgers. It is very busy with a long ques during the day, so better to visit in the late afternoon. There are some tables and chairs in front of the place where you can sit to enjoy your meal in the maddison park.

I visited NYC for the first time April 2017. After I returned to Virginia, a co-worker asked me the best food I ate while there. He is a little bit of a food snob and is more food adventurous than I, so he was devastated when I said the Shake Shack in Madison Sq. Park. One of my best memories... More

We had an early dinner here which was maybe lucky as we didn't have much of a wait. The burgers and fries were great and we were happy to have this "must-have" meal in NYC, especially in the beautiful Madison Square Park.

The seating was a bit limited but this is like any great eatery! There was even someone to hold the door as the line was a bit long. We got our order in and served within 10 minutes. The burger and fries reminded me of Summer. The custard could use a tad more vanilla extract, but overall delicious and fun!

We waited 40 minutes to get our burger, but boy was it worth it! Lovely location in the park, I believe it to be the first Shake Shack. Managed to get a table too, so all good!! Highly recommend.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
