Still the best kosher pastrami in NYC in my book. Each table is served a complimentary array of cole slaw and pickles -- the sour ones are as salty as the floor manager's personality! The difference is that the pickles are appropriately sour but the...More

This is a CLASSIC New York deli. They don't make 'em like this anymore. Huge deli sandwiches, knishes, soups, coleslaw - it's not fancy, and it's not cheap (but the prices are reasonable). And it's crowded. But the food is good, the portions are VERY...More

My spouse and I dined at the Second Avenue Deli for brunch on a Monday morning in late January 2017. The deli is open daily (including Saturdays) from morning until late. The Second Avenue Deli offers two locations (neither of which is actually on Second...More

Pastrami on rye, corned beef on rye, knishes, lox - everything a proper deli should serve! The one disappointment were the latkes - we found them to be heavy and not light and flakey. Complimentary chocolate soda is served after the meal.

If it's been a while since you've tasted gribenes, kasha varnishkes, kishkes, cholent, matzo brei or tongue, this is the place for you! They make everything on site and the pastrami is spectacular. But remember, this restaurant is truly kosher, so don't go expecting bagels...More

2nd Avenue Deli has an unassuming exterior that belies the great food and hospitality within. We went there to try their pastrami sandwich based on recommendations, so we were surprised and a little skeptical when we found the restaurant almost empty when we arrived at...More

I've seen the Jewish delis on different food shows for years and couldn't wait to finally visit one. This place was great. The sandwich was loaded with meats. I had the triple with pastrami, corned beef and salami. It was soooo good. The service was...More

Definitely a NYC classic. When you take out their sandwiches they give you some slices of pastrami while you wait. Matzo ball soup is also on point.

Service was friendly and helpful. Ordered a Roast Beef Bagel on an onion bagel. It was everything I expected and more. Only problem was that the portion was too much to finish. Very tasty. A good cup of coffee to round of the delicious meal....More

Should trip adviser decide my answer is inappropriate, don't post it. It is my honest answer which is trying to help the questioner decide what choice to make. I am suggesting a viable alternative to be constructive.
