This restaurant has been here for 11 years, which says a lot about quality in a very competitive market. In view of the mixed reviews here, I plan to return a couple of times increase the number of stars. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated in a very subtle way. At one on Saturday afternoon, there were two... More

I ate the least expensive Omikase (chef's choice) and every piece of fish was delicious, absolutely fresh and not boring. The portion was large enough that I was satisfied-- when was the last time you could say that after eating sushi? Don't expect fast food here. The Japanese owner (his wife waits the table) is the only chef and it... More

Average food at expensive prices with awful service. Trifecta to avoid and choose a better restaurant. Eggplant With Plum Sauce Inedible--Tasted Like Lighter Fluid! It didn't look like eggplant and was super smokey tasting burnt. It didn't even have a hint of sweetness like the name implied. The entire table of adventurous eaters that eat nearly anything almost chocked on... More

We went on a Thurs evening at 730p and the restaurant was completely empty. We asked to sit at the bar and they refused because we had no reservations which was laughable since there were absolutely no customers. Crickets....Other notable sushi places were busy. Such a stupid policy. I am certain they will be closed for business soon.

Chef brought sushi to table, the people handled it and asid they did not want it. He put the food on a tray and back in the case. he then served it to someone else after people had played with it with their hands. I'll never go back again!

Real find. Top rate sushi and other dishes - mushroom soup comes to mind. Fish selection local and flown in from Japan. Customers mostly Japanese two times we visited. Reasonable priced items and house sake. Also offer omikase menu from $60 up - call a day ahead. The husband wife cook waitress team are extremely friendly and helpful.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
